CarrionCrow: Good evening. =)

How's your night going?
avatar
ddickinson: Good evening! *evening hug*

My night is going quite well, thank you. I am hoping I can get another three hours sleep again, but hopefully my full five, but I'm not holding my breath for that. So I guess I will just enjoy the log fire and listening to some music while reading and chatting on the forum.

avatar
moonshineshadow: It was quite ok. I spoke to my father for a while and then read a bit :-)
*big return return return hug* :P
avatar
ddickinson: That sounds nice. What are you reading at the moment? I have been sticking to my factual books lately, mainly as I can not get into a good book while I am so worn out. But I am slowly feeling better, then I can start on some new fiction.

Let's see if I can get this right:

*bigger returning return hug for the return return hug* :-)
Will also hope that you can get the whopping five hours of sleep. Trying to function on three gets painful in a hurry.
avatar
CarrionCrow: Hey there. =) I have something to share with you.

Fun such as this awaits you when you do your Meat Boy run.

How's your overall patience? -laughs-
avatar
genkicolleen: Glaaah! >_< Punished_Snake, why you do this to meeee? *waves fist in the air*
Presumably as a goof to see how much you're willing to suffer before going back to a game that's actually enjoyable? -laughs-
avatar
CarrionCrow: Microsoft sucks because I spent 40 dollars on a controller, and it's already starting to break.
avatar
ddickinson: Have you been getting angry at a game and throwing the controller in a moment of anger? Be honest. :-)
I actually haven't, remarkably enough. Must be mellowing in my old age.
The only thing I use that controller for is that one game, so it shouldn't be breaking already. Will hope that it holds together, really not wanting to spend an extra 40 dollars just to have a controller for Dark Souls, RE4 and the Escape Goat series.

moonshineshadow: I am reading "The Camelot Papers", which is a quite funny take at the Arthus saga. Nothing deep or historical but fun to read :-)
*even bigger than "bigger returning return hug for the return return hug" hug* ;-)
And GOG ate my post. Nice. :-)

Your book sounds like fun. I ave been reading a lot of stuff on the First World War, what with it being the centenary last year. I had forgotten how many books I had on the war, but then I do have way too many books on history in general. :-)

*biggest and best ever returning return hug for the returning hug that returned the return hug for the original returning hug for the return hug that was returned.* :-)

One can never have enough books so you can't have too many books on history :P And yeah, I got the book in a bundle so I was not expecting much, but it turns out to be really worth the money :-)

*defeated hug since how could I beat the biggest and best ever hug*

I hope so too. But three hours sleep is still a lot better than just one hours sleep. :-)

What controller is it? Have you had it long for it to already be breaking?
I'm now getting Insomnia sale-style glitches, only it changes my posts per page setting while sending me back 400+ pages.

Starting to wonder if they actually are working on a forum upgrade right now. It feels like something different is in the works, since I haven't seen that particular bug combo before.

There was mention by someone about account upgrades (or at least game shelf upgrades, something like that) being in the works a few weeks back, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's part of it...

Anyway, I'm off to bed!

Night all :)

True. But if a difference of two hours is that substantial, just think of the possibilities if you could actually sleep 6 to 8 hours. Your body probably wouldn't know how to feel at that point.

It's a Microsoft X-Box for PC controller. Had barely used it until the start of the Meat Boy run.

I think it is still remains from whatever happenend earlier when the whole site was down. I sometimes have the bug where the forum thinks I am not logged in and throws me to the standard settings with the small number of posts per page.

Wishful thinking on my part, I guess. It probably is residual from the library unbundling since mine got switched over today.

Have a good night, sleep well. =)

I have more books on history than anything else, most from when I was doing my doctorate or from my grandmother (who was an historian). I still buy new ones now and then. They are the only books I can buy in paper form freely (because of all the diagrams and the formats the books often use). Other books I now have to but for the Kindle, as my books take up too much room. I could get rid of some and then buy more paper books, which I do from time to time, but I tend to horde books. Most are now stored in boxes in the attic, with the rest in my own little library.

*regular return hug, as a hug from Moon is great no matter how big the hug us* :-)

I would hate getting 6 or 8 hours sleep all the time. The only day I normally sleep in is Sundays, but that's because Saturday night and Sunday morning is the only day of the week I can wake up with my partner, all the other days I am out by 5 am for work. The strange thing is that if I try to sleep more on other days then I hate it and it messes with my internal clock, but Saturday night/Sunday morning I can sleep all I want. I will be glad when I can get back to my 4/5 hours sleep. That's all I need.

I have an X-Box controller as well, and have found it okay so far. I have not used it much, though, so I don't know if they are poorly made or not. I plan on using it for Outlast over the weekend, and I used it for Mind: Path to Thalamus.

Yeah paper books are great but they take a lot of space. I changed to buying paper books only from the authors I really like because of the limited space. Other books I am buying for the Kindle. But I think I might need to reduce the number of authors I am still buying books from in paper format since the new shelf I only got a month ago is filling up nicely already :D And I don't even want to think about all the books I have stored at my parents place (luckily I don't need to retrieve them for the moment since that would really give me space problems).

But while I love talking about books I need to get some sleep now. *good night hugs and waves* See you all later

I kind of hope they are not working on an upgrade for the forum. As bad as it is, at least it kind of works at the moment. Who knows what they will mess up with a new upgrade. Just look at all the problems the main site had, and I would guess they put less priority into the forum upgrade, so I can imagine the problems it would cause.

You know, I've never done that! I sure have been angry enough to do it, in my youth, but even then I knew that if I didn't control myself, I'd break something and not be able to play my games anymore~! Eldest, though, is another matter. She's gone through three N64 controllers~! We only have one left, and I won't let her borrow it! :p

Yeah yeah, mean old mommy, but I want to be able to play my games! ;D

I have never got that angry at a game, and definitely not enough to break the controller. When I was at university one of my house-mates used to get so angry at games and she would destroy anything within arms reach if she got very angry. The strange thing was that she was such a sweet and innocent looking girl normally, but she turned into some hardcore gamer monster when playing games. :-)

Yep, mean mummy. But at least you will still be able to play your games. Mums have to look at the bigger picture after all. :-)

Fair enough. It sounds like you know what your body needs, and you're able to get it when you haven't been half-buried under stress.

If the controller really is broken, I'm figuring it's either a fluke, or I've been doing the aforementioned death grip thing.
Despite hating that game quite a bit, I also get into it so I end up not noticing if I'm smashing the buttons trying to beat certain levels for hours at a time.
