ddickinson: Good evening, everyone!

How are you all this evening?

Did I miss anything fun with today's sale?

Has Moon visited the thread today? I hope she is doing okay?

What's this? Did you forget the punishment for smoking? Get to your room and do a complete play-through of Soulstorm! That will teach you for smoking. :-)

EndreWhiteMane: Nothing except free 'Rise of the Triad (2013)' which many of us now have spare keys for if you want a copy.
(And no, it won't be a 'gift' because I have no other use for it.)

As far as smoking most people 'fall of the wagon' 1000 times before they finally manage to quit, so no big horrible thing there.
Next time someone tries let's just not keep asking them how they're doing. That just makes them think about it more. :-)
That includes me when I try soon, I won't even let anyone know. ;)
Best of luck to you in that regard whenever you go for it. Will say that now and keep a constant mental note to not mention it from this point forward. =)

CarrionCrow: Oh yeah, I'm definitely intending to quit, regardless of setbacks. Never wanted to start in the first place, honestly.
All it took was a moment of extreme weakness, though, and I latched onto it.

Have to respectfully disagree about the name since I prefer the moon to the sun anyway, so the high regard in which I hold her makes the name feel that much more fitting.
I'm glad to hear that you are not letting a small set back stop you. Endre says that it's best to not ask people how they are doing with kicking the habit, so I will try not to ask from now on.

You are right, of course, about Moon. But I think no matter the name she would still be so lovely. As the old saying goes: "What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet".

It''ll be a little while yet but it's probably better to let the person quitting brag about it once in a while, everyone yell 'yay!', fire a confetti cannon and then drop it till next time. :-)
Don't know about you but if I can just put it out of my mind somehow things go a lot smoother.

Oh yeah, that definitely helps. Not sure about you, but my brain gnaws on it after a while and attempts to drive me insane with the whole thing.
I'm going to keep in mind how I was able to quit last time, load up a bunch of games, and use those to effectively vegetate so I don't think about it while my brain gets used to actually functioning without drugs again.

Also, thank you for the list info, by the way. Original Sin, Pillars, Tex, Avernum. Got it. =)

l0rdtr3k: And I'll probably have conjunctivitis. I'm contractually obligated to have this shit when I have the flu.
avatar
ddickinson: I am sorry to hear you have the flu, I hope it won't be too bad. My partner had that recently and it was not nice.

*big get well hug*

l0rdtr3k:
Okay, that sounds frigging awful.
Not sure how antibiotics work when you're a sentient amorphous blob, but hopefully they'll still work quickly and effectively. =)

I will be sure to get the cannons ready to celebrate the bragging. Hopefully I will remember to load confetti and not regular shells. :-)

What possible harm could I do? :-)

How are you progressing with your hard drives? Are you finished, or is there still more to do?

What games have you playing? Other than sorting your computer, have you been up to anything fun today?

-laughs- You and your kinda-sorta frowning.
Don't worry, I won't ever go super nuts with someone's list so they feel uncomfortable about accepting a gift. =)

I have done that, the poor person ended up huddled in a corner scared of getting even more gifts. :-)
high rated
Hope you guys are all well today.

I'm just dealing with a whole bunch of rejection. (Minnesota just rejected a corporate return and the IRS just rejected an extension for a 2013 estate, both due today.)

Got down from 90 updates on my accounts tab last month to 52 this morning to 15 currently. They haven't split my shelf yet, but I'm out of time. I'll have to figure those 15 out in the near future.

Can't wait to see what number I finish at, but starting at... 870.

Bocce and beer loom on the near horizon. I hope all that frequent this thread have a fine evening or morning or whatever the hell you're currently experiencing. :)

Played bits of 8 or so as I'm uninstalling/moving stuff.
Must keep children amused you know. :-)

Note: I just squirted myself in the eye with a blood orange, youch that smarts.

MEDIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

-laughs- Sometimes bombardment works.
Won't test out the psychological effects of it on someone I like, though.
Maybe when I have more money and an enemy to hategift a bunch of stuff to...
