ddickinson: We do indeed have Daylights Savings in England. I think we change them on 29th of March this year. We go from GMT to British Summer Time (BST), which is +1 hour. Then during winter we revert back an hour to GMT.
Ho... just like me, then ! :)

Hello, Owl! *hello hug*

How has your day been so far? I hope you have had a pleasant day at work?
Mornin' all, glad to hear everyone is OK except for our usual doses of 'tireditis'.
Slept in this morning and feeling OK. Going back to my hard drive cleanup as soon as I have a bit more coffee.

Can't believe Gunny put a science puzzle in front of me and then went to bed, that'll drive me nuts all day. :-)

BTW: F.E.A.R. seems to be only game in the catalog which is totally unsearchable, can't find it except by alphabetical listing.

Hello, Endre! *big morning hug*

That's a shame about F.E.A.R., as it is a really good FPS. Maybe they could just amend the name to be F.E.A.R. (FEAR), that way the search would work for the word between the bracket.

How are you today my lovely American friend?

A bit groggy from sleeping too late but otherwise doing well.
Sorry to hear about your lack of sleep, wish I could give you some of mine.

Good morning, Endre! Glad you are feeling OK!
You could try searching "Platinum" .... I don't think there is any way to find M.A.X. + M.A.X. 2 by searching, though...

ddickinson: I never actually found F.E.A.R. to be scary. I know many people find it spooky and scary, but it was just another FPS to me. It was a very good FPS, and one I really enjoyed playing, but I just never found it to be much of a horror game.
Seconded. but F.E.A.R. indeed has a nice flow, alternating between "calm" passages and frenzied firefights. In terms of scariness there were a few places in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. that spooked me a lot more.

We 'sprung ahead' on March 8, now on CDT instead of CST. I hate these changes, they're kind of dumb really.

Morning Agent! You'd have to know it was the platinum edition first, and you're right, MAX is another.

F.E.A.R. scared the hell out of me (and still does...)
It seems to be one of the more polarizing games when it comes to being scary. Plenty of people (like me) get scared to turn every corner... Plenty of people don't think it is scary at all.
I guess I'm a coward :-p

...
And still no staff picks?

I'm sure some coffee will have you feeling awake and ready to sort your hard drives some more.

I will be okay with my sleep, last night was the worse I have had in a few weeks.

F.E.A.R. did indeed have a good flow, with a nice level of difficulty. I have not played it for a while, even though I have picked it up from GOG when it was released.

How are you today? I hope work is going okay?

True...
Did you just try to call me? I just got a call from Cedar Rapids a few minutes ago :-/

Of course people have different level of fear, that's perfectly fine. There is nothing wrong with finding something scary.

Some people think that a St Patrick's Day sale is coming tomorrow, so that could be why there are no staff picks.

Ohhh... That sounds like a definite possibility.... That was a "mutator" sale last year, wasn't it?
I never tried the mutators. I'm not much of a gambler.

I am not too sure. This time last year I was only about 16 days old on GOG and I did not visit the site too often.

AgentBirdnest: I only lasted about 45 minutes before I couldn't take anymore... Too spooky for me. The maximum spookiness I can handle is F.E.A.R. (at least you get guns in that one!!)
Narrating everything on screen sounds like an interesting idea... I'll have to try that sometime.
I would have gotten F.E.A.R when it launched here if I had not played Amnesia before, now I avoid all horror games like the plague and until I complete Amnesia I would not count on being able to play it.
Having weapons feels reassuring which is the main reason why I was able to complete Alan Wake (Plus it isn't much of a scary game anyway) but I thought I'd grown more badass than my 7 year old self who had trouble not getting scared while watching horror movies.
