I played some online games and there the stars were used to express that you are doing something, So *waves* means that I am waving. It somehow stuck this way of writing since it proved useful for online stuff :-)

GhostwriterDoF: Oh I will, definitely.

I have been reading people's reviews of writers and books in the Threads here for years and am very curious to see how people will react to my story writing. Even with the great variety of Countries and cultures, people share very similar complaints about lack of character development and flat plots... which I share, in movies, books, and games.

I've worked a lot of years on development and design, weaving worlds and cultures with intertwined histories and a prehistory behind the scenes, even subtly working things into the story to help it be adapted to games. ;)
A note on character development.
I am, and will always remain for whatever unexplainable reason, fond of japanese manga.

As a rule, I prefer wacky nonsensical comedies, because with very few exceptions, their serious stories are facepalm worthy.

And then, there's the shounen genre, which all too often features protagonists that run only at two speeds. Tormented angsty emos with a troubled past. and hot-blooded, gung-ho, happy-go-lucky, also with a troubled past. With motivations that border on the pathological.

What creeps me out is that those traits that would land them in a psychiatrist's office somewhere else, are considered positive over there.

I wonder what it says about the readers who are fans of this type of writing... :P

Incidentally, being overly-dramatic doesn't usually require a psychiatric evaluation,
and it is quite often a human condition, can't be helped. heh!

I got Freedom Planet whenever it showed up for Round two :-) So only two games to go... but with this speed of the sale it can be a while ;-)

I have to admit I was not sure myself. I had to go and check my shelf and wishlist. This cold and all the sofa breaks I took made a mess of my keeping track of things :D
Good morning/afternoon/evening, everyone. =)

It seems that Insomnia actually has some speed again. Watching the combo of Gabriel Knight and Mind was a bit on the maddening side with how slowly they both went.
It looks like GOG's cutting quantities for round 3 items, so I guess they don't want this sprawling into next week any more than the people still trying to get items do. -laughs-

But anyway. I hope you're all having a pleasant enough weekend, with a bare minimum of the digital contagion that seems to be spreading at the moment. =)
