I just downloaded Batman Arkham city to my computer and the game don't identify the controller properly (in the main menu it is saying on the screen to press A to confirm, but instead its the x button. The joysticks don't work at all, and when starting the game I can move and the camera is spinning uncontrollably.

the controller is an Xbox series x controller, and it didn't gave me any problems before (and I checked it again now with other games (older ones too)). I cant seem to find any solution and the game is supposed to be controller supported.

someone had this issue? have any idea how to fix it?

Lots of people are having the same problem. My guess is that's some type of incompatibility with the controller.

Edit:
I read someone solved the problem using the official xbox adapter instead of bluetooth.

I know this might sound crazy, but have you tried waiting until the game has starting before turning on your Xbox One controller?
Hope this helps.

I’ve run into the issue on a few titles. First, make sure to update the firmware through X-box accessories app. If that is updated, try using the controller as a wired controller. You have to have a USB data transfer cable though as the cheaper charge cables won’t work. Another method is to completely uninstall the device under device manager. That way, Windows will automatically install the necessary driver next time you connect. Sometimes it gets confused…windows I mean.
It could also be corrupt gaming service files. I can walk you through uninstalling gaming services through powershell if need be.

Hi! I have experienced the exact same problem as you but with the epic games launcher. Everything was the same tho.
I got around the problem by simply connecting the controller thru a USB-c cable. it worked completely. It's not the best solution obviously but it works! The camera doesn't spin the buttons aren't mismatched everything works correctly.
I hope this helped you and everyone looking for the same fix.
Have a good one !
Hi, did you manage to solve the problem?

Hi everyone, yes! I did this and it worked!! I have an Xbox Series X controller.
Yeah, I've had a number of issues with bluetooth controllers. Unfortunately, the best solution I've found is to plug them in with a cable.
