so I've been having a problem for months where GOG will tell me that there's an update in my library, and it's usually a game that has an update, and I'll go to the game, in this case Gal Civ 3 and click it and hte notification will go away until I go to a new page... how do I stop this?

I had the same "problem" at some point and I think it just went away on it's own. Did you try downloading the game and see if this fixes the issue?

Welcome to GOG, where the bugs are the features™!
There's some of us that have had a phantom chat notification for over a year.
Others of us couldn't change our avatars for an equal amount of time.
It's just another bug which this site is full of.

Vythonaut: I had the same "problem" at some point and I think it just went away on it's own. Did you try downloading the game and see if this fixes the issue?
Well the game is installed on my PC but this is happening on my mac which it isn't installed on, and this is both on browswer and galaxy

For me it goes by seeing the changelog on the library Game menú.

This usually works for me (though you often have to wait a few minutes for it to hold properly), but if it doesn't then you might try this:

As it may help to clear any particularly stubborn notifications.

as nerevar said, opening up the change log itself seems to clear my notices out, but even then some notices take a day to clear
