There doesn't seem to be a specific forum for this game, so i figure I'd ask the question here.
I am thinking of buying this game off of gog, because while I still have the dosbox version, it had a few issues.
I wanted to ask here if any of those were settled here.
1: The handsign for spells didn't show the letters for what you were trying to spell out.
2: A certain path in the forest didn't work, so when the game auto-pathed during a cutscene you froze.

I'm just curious if anything is done to resolve these.

I seem to remember for item 1 that this was part of the copy protection, and you could only know what it meant if you had the corresponding picture that came with the game. If so, I'd assume you're provided with that image as one of the extras.

No idea about item 2 I'm afraid.

Since you already have the DOSBox version, nothing can stop you to import the game to ScummVM.
Just download it and run it. Super simple, super easy.

For old DOS classics, the only one benefit GOG provide is a better pre-configured DOSBox.
Since GOG already use ScummVM for this game, the GOG version do not provide any additional features.
Thank you both for letting me know : ) I guess nothing is going to stop that copyright protection, so nothing has changed.

Isn't that how it's supposed to be in the game? The hand-diagram with the letters was in the game's manual, which is why GOG provides a complete scan of that, along with another scan of the original hint book.

I don't know about this particular issue, but on Scummvm's website, the game's compatibility rating is "excellent" and it's noted to be "completable".
Keep in mind that Scummvm, unlike Dosbox, does not act as an emulator. It replaces the original executable entirely with a new engine/interpreter.

1: Nope, it was a copyright protection. The letters are suppose to stay there.
2: yeah it was a bug with the game, and one of the exits through the forest doesn't work. If you try to reach the druid grove from the south and take the middle path the game won't let you. this is important cause there is an event south of the grove which auto-walks you north. If your character takes that path the game will soft lock.
