For The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Game of the Year, Best RPG.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has just been voted the Best RPG of 2015 and granted the ultimate gaming honor: Game of the Year. All in this year's The Game Awards gala in Los Angeles.

CD PROJEKT RED, our partners in crime, have also been voted Developer of the Year!

Combined with Golden Joystick Awards in the Ultimate Game of the Year, Best Storytelling, Best Visual Design, Best Gaming Moment, and Studio of the Year categories - high-fives are flying left and right, and there are plenty of smiles around.

So congratulations to this year's most beloved game developers! And a huge thanks to you guys, the gamers, for your undying support for the rebels, for all that is good in gaming.

Congratulation ! Now you just have to prove that you can do something else than the Witcher. Just like actors that aren't limited to comedy. That's when you'll prove to be really good.

i knew it !!!!!! best game ever , a masterpiece, congrats i loved it so much went back and played witcher 2 , twice , also good game , looking forward to next expansion ) im 68 year old grandmother , and love witcher )

barleyguy: Divinity came out originally in 2014, so was before the deadline. I think it was nominated last year.

I think CDPR was a shoe-in for "Developer of the Year", because they are one of the few companies that has customer friendly attitudes towards DRM, DLC, Microtransactions etc. That's as well as making great games.

(On a side note, I consider The Game Awards the most legitimate Game of the Year, because it's voted on by representatives from all the major outlets in game journalism.)

Ah you're correct, the console version was released this year.
That makes this year even more dull on the releases than I remembered.
I don't follow developers so I have no clue as to who did what this year.
I do know W3 was (and perhaps still is) buggy and badly optimized on release and that CDPR did some weaselly things with the 'DLC', the so-called 'expansions' and the day one DRM.
But as slow as the year was, I suppose they might still have been the most deserving dev.
I sure can't think of a better one.
