I can't play anything anymore - apparently I'm suffering from a case of acute pixelphobia.
I don't experience phobias in game.

But, since my wife and I had our first child I have real difficulty with scenarios involving children in peril.

This is more a problem with movies than games in general.

Real life phobias, and game phobias have never really overlapped for me till just recently. I have this... dread or something with deep water when its clear-ish but Its deep enough I cant see the bottom. Im playing Subnautica now, and the same thing happens. As soon as I can see the bottom, im fine. I start freaking out when I cant see the bottom though, even If I already know whats down there.

I can totally relate to this. Have you played Among the Sleep? It looks good, but I don't think I could bring myself to play it.

This game accurately explores your phobia of children in peril and much worse.

Babies. Even though I'm a fan of Hideo Kojima and Metal Gear Solid, I won't be playing Death Stranding. Carrying around a magic baby in a tank on your chest? Vomit inducing. No way.
