I would very much like to see a Witcher 4, even if the series takes a different approach, with regards to the characters in the game. Perhaps one could create their own Witcher, and explore a new setting, or something different all together.

According to this article, the Witcher 4 was a possibility:

Then, this article, written later, states there will be no Witcher 4:

Does anyone know if there has been any official announcement?
Officially, Geralt's story is done, so there will be no more games with him as the protagonist, but the possibility of another game in the Witcher universe with a different protagonist still exists.

Yes, a la Mass Effect. Which I totally understand and in fact even prefer.
Fuck more Witcher... I want me some Cyberpunk 2077!!

This! As a non-fan of medieval fantasy, I cannot wait for this game.
Would've been interesting to play for a mage. Witchers are great and all, but it will be difficult to play for other one than Geralt, especially someone generic and player-created. But apart from the already seen and scarce info there is nothing more on any kind of sequel. There might not be any game in this universe at all.

I wish CDPR would tackle the Malazan world. Imho those books would make awesome RPGs. Heck the writers started from a PnP idea when they crafted the world.
I won't lie, I'm certain I'd pick up a Witcher 4 if CDPR made it, but I really hope they step away from the series and focus on doing some different games first.
I wouldn't say no. As long as we get to avoid playing as a wimpy mage or something.
I understand Cyberpunk will be coming out soon. It makes sense, as it has been in development, there have been press releases, and the company is looking to expand their market share into other styles of games. But I am still hopeful they will release a Witcher 4 afterwards.
I would love to see another game in the witcher universe, but I'm also looking forward to see more to cyberpunk and how that game is going to be.

Loved the first Deus Ex game, and i hope that CP is going to be much in the same way.
They initially said that the series was over, then fans complained and they clarified that it would only be the end of Geralt's story specifically and that there was a chance for future games. It looks like someone just slipped up and strayed from the talking points in that second link.

That said, I strongly suspect that's what they've actually thought all along and the Witcher series is finished. They've come out and said that 2077 has even greater commercial potential in their eyes, so I strongly suspect that all that wishy-washy talk about there maybe-possibly being a fourth game at some point is just to appease the fan base until CDPR can supplant their current "best thing evar" with something new that everyone can similarly latch onto.
Three games is enough. Lets move on to other adventures, bring on Cyberpunk.

yes this, with the main character a certain dark skinned lord with white hair.
