i haven't played, or even installed, most of my GOG games.

There, I said it. I know you other guys always play all your GOG games instantly and finish them within hours of purchase, but I am not like you. I am a special snowflake, you guys are sleet.
A person uses a client and pre-orders games! More at eleven!

groze: I use GOG Galaxy and I quite like it.

Yeah, Galaxy is decent. It could do with improvements such as enabling right click. I pre-order games too although only ones I'm certain I will like.

groze: To be fair I only pre-order games from studios that I trust will deliver, hence why I was never disappointed in my pre-orders so far. What you say makes sense, though, but I will still pre-order games if I feel like it's worth my money.

GOG does allow you to cancel the pre-orders, by the way, and they gave me store credit after a game I pre-ordered wasn't quite what I expected (Cornerstone: A Song of Tyrim). I now have Owlboy pre-ordered and I absolutely trust the studio behind it, and I feel fine with my money helping them fine tune the game until release.

Goodaltgamer: OK, being on the same page ;)

just wanted to bring a wee bit of attention to it!

Before you getting burned and feathered, or was it the other way round *checking the notes* ;)
Yeah me as well. I only pre-order games I'm certian I will like.

You aren't a GOGer, you are a gamer.

Do what you want.
Oh, I'm even worse: GoG Galaxy is the whole *reason* why I came back to GoG. I have a psychological need to keep my gaming separate from my "productivity" software, so even though I had a long list of good ol' games I wished to replay, the fact I'd need to download, install and patch myself, keeping them side by side with Lightroom et al, stopped me for years. But then I tried Galaxy on a Witcher-related whim, and saw it was good(tm).

Preorders on the other hand, like most: only when I'm pretty sure I'll love it; Shadow Warrior 2 for instance, or the expansion for Guild Wars 2 for the most recent examples.

One suggestion: Create a second user account on your computer. Use one account for productivity software, and the other one for gaming.

(It's worth noting that SteamOS actually does this; one account for Steam and one for the desktop.)

But then he'd never log out of the gaming one.
I was hoping this thread would have stories about people who whack off while playing HuniePop and stuff, but it turned out to all be about some stupid client.

What a bummer.

I think that actually makes you a worthy GOGger, since it indicates you fit right in around here.

*gasp*
You horrible, horrible individual! How dare you have opinions which differ sharply from my own personal gaming values! Even worse so to share an opinion that the majority of the gaming market has and still be here, thus further degenerating the quality of this website as GOG will begin to market to heretics like you!
That does it! I'm leaving the forum and never, ever coming back! I'm going to find a BETTER store with BETTER people that believe in good, wholesome qualities, like only selling the games I want, not including all this indie bullcrap which I don't like, and not including horrible options such as pre-ordering or clients or in development which other people may be fine with!
NEVER coming back, you hear me?! Never coming back except for one or two threads tomorrow and a couple others I marked as favorites and that new one that looks kinda interesting!

Edit: That's probably the most biting satire I've done this week. I am prepared to bathe in your downvotes!

Yeah, anime-looking casual match 3 games fit perrfectly with a place made originally for old-school RPGs and point&click adventure games :D

I was talking more about the forum than the website in general. I mean, look at the people we're surrounded by.
