DEMO http://www.lasthalfofdarkness.com/bloodlust/demo.htm

REVIEW : http://www.rpgwatch.com/articles/bloodlust--shadowhunter--first-look-229.html

Please consider voting for this vampire game. I think it would fit in very well on the GOG catalogue.

You have a choice of three classes, Warrior, Mage, Thief (ranged) and two races, Vampire or Dhampir, this is subdivided by Vampire Clan type.

It has many things that I find attractive, lots of puzzles (these include using your vampire powers like Mist Form, Vampire Gaze to access remote/hidden areas), quests, intrigue, betrayal,. you can also sire your own fledgelings to help you, it has a hefty dungeon crawler aspect with lots of secret areas and even arenas. I think the level cap is 300, but it is still early access, so that is subject to change.

The game is pretty much complete, the dev is a "one man show" but he is firing out tons of updates to clear up some little niggley stuff,

I have spent a couple of hours with it so far and if you like Vampire games (eg. VTM) I think you will be very interested in this.

Bumpage.
Here from the "like bloodlines" thread. I have high hopes for it, I've got to try that demo. Demos are rare enough this days that the game deserves me trying it out, at least.
Vampire RPG? Yes, please!
Just finished the demo, I enjoyed it but I can't say I'm sold completely on it. There was very little lore introduced in the demo and the few characters present weren't at all interesting (in my opinion). The gameplay itself is fine, the powers are cool enough, the melee system is simple (but not bad), but it used that "Batman and his Batarang" puzzle too much. Graphically it's decent for what it is, ditto for the sound. I'm not a fan of only having one save slot and the game constantly saving over your hard saves (typically at the worst possible time).

Assuming you bought it, once you get out of the ruins what is the city like and can you do quests around the city, or are you sent back into generic ancient ruins for actual questing? Does the story improve or is it just barely there, any interesting characters introduced? What is the general mood and feel like, does it have an industrial/goth tint to the entire game like Bloodlines or...?

My favorite part of the demo was the ability to sire and then send your own fledglings out to do your bidding, that's just awesome.

I have no idea, I'm still in the ruins, trying the three characters out (prefer the Warrior so far). Had a trip to the first dungeon, got some nice loots, not a big fan of the single save slot myself, but its no different I guess from the likes of any ARPG like TQ etc. I have seen that you can betray other clans etc. So, I imagine there is some story, personally I think of it mostly as a hack n slash with some nice vampire clothes.

It's a lot of game for that price and it runs well on my PoS computer which is always a plus :)
I gave the demo a go over the weekend. Honestly, not particularly impressed. Combat was clunky, and story was not very attractive as far as I could tell. It felt like a 3rd person clunky diablo clone with a vampire theme and a dungeon exploration/secret finding focus. The whole biting and family mechanic was intriguing, it could have a lot of potential, however it wasn't used for much so far.

Sure, it may pick up later. But if the demo was meant to showcase what the game has to offer, I don't think I'm interested in getting more of that.

Yeah, I haven't actually played it myself since my last post, going to wait until its finished, but for that price its worth a punt imo, but I do see your point :)

Well, once you get to try it in full, if it does pick up do report it please. I'm down for a good vampire RPG, I just don't like diablo style ARPG too much.

Will do! I like arpg though, so it doesn't bother me that much I guess :)
