Looks good, wish they would've released on gog the same time as elsewhere though.

It isn't released yet.

Seems quite nice, will check out some reviews when released.
Honestly, looks rather unremarkable compared to all the party-based RPGs that are still waiting for me to buy them, like Original Sin 2 or Tyranny. It's become a pretty crowded field, and as they are quite time-consuming there's not much point in hoarding them, unless someone really likes having a massive backlog.

Fair points, but how about "wanting to support games like this so they keep being made"?

I need a massive backlog to counter the weight of my massive frontlog!

Cool if someone's rich enough to buy things just for the sake of supporting people behind them. I have to try and limit myself to things I have a realistic chance of actually playing.

I’m coming with you Breja
Another turn-by-turn role-playing game...
I really miss a good STR (RTS) of this quality...

This says Zoria to an advantage...
Technically it is well built!
And it’s nice to offer us the free prologue.
Personally, I prefer a game made by a nice team :-)
I also want to emphasize that this is the first game of "Tiny Trinket Games" sold on GOG.

Quantity allows to choose the quality, if we prefer !

Not really...at least half of them, like Tyranny, are realtime, not turn-based, and are therefore a different (and very annoying as far as I'm concerned) genre. Bring on more proper turn-based RPGs; there aren't very many of them.

Yes, I'd like to see more turn-based RPGs, though I would actually prefer non-tactical combat.

(Of course, the game I'm playing right now is full SRPG with tactical combat, and I'm enjoying it, but it comes with the drawback that individual fights take much longer than they would in a non-tactical RPG.)

Also, for this game:
* Good: Has native Linux support
* Bad: Requires a lot of RAM (in the minimum requirements), a lot more than my laptop has. (Also, is this game (or at least the demo) playable with either just a keyboard (no mouse) or just a gamepad?)

Edit: Demo is listed as not being compatible with Linux when I go to checkout.

Edit 2: To actually purchase the demo, I had to check and then unckeck the "gift this order" checkout. Just an annoying little bug that fortunately has an easy workaround.

I think it's still similiar enough. A difference in combat is not enough for me to jump from one lengthy fantasy party based RPG straight to another.
I have a ton of backlog in RPG games myself, but I still hunger for new RPGs constantly. Probably a flaw in my character that I just can't be satisfied lol. If it starts out at a decent price or discount, then I'll probably get it at release, otherwise it's going on my wishlist.

As far as supporting a game / game developer by buying their game, I guess each person has to make that decision based on their time and budget (or any other reasons). Nothing wrong with that at all.

I don't really think of myself as supporting them. It's more like me just taking a chance to see if I can experience the same enjoyment I used to find playing the TSR/SSI games, particularly the Forgotten Realms series.

Curse of the Azure Blades was one of the earliest pc games I played and probably the one that won my heart when I switched over to PC from console games. Though I'm sure console games are great these days.

If I end up supporting the devs in the process, then I'm happy for them. I always wished some of those game companies from back then hadn't gone out of business. I would love to see modern remakes of those SSI games (Forgotten Realms, Dragonlance, Buck Rogers to name a few) and many others as well. In fact I'm playing Buck Rogers: Countdown to Doomsday (on dosbox) right now!

I think most, if not all of us want to experience something extraordinary when we play these newer RPGs and hope our expectations are met. Reality is we're all a bit greedy in our RPG gaming desires lol and I doubt any devs out there can make 100% of their customers happy now matter how hard they try.

So here's hoping Zoria: Age of Shattering turns out to be a good game!

I'd disagree in terms of the amount of difference between such games; in fact, the difference between turn-based and real-time is frequently enough to be a defining feature of a genre, so it results in the games not even being in the same genre!

Imagine a game that's like your typical RTS, except turn based. Would you still call the game an RTS?

By the way, I wish there were more (turn-based) RPGs that were *not* lengthy; one reason I can replay the first SaGa so much is that it is extremely short by RPG standards.
Actually had a lot of fun, while taking a break from playing Horizon: Zero Dawn, untill it overheated (saw the CPU hit 90C) my PC and reset the whole thing.
