Time for an exciting JRPG – Ys X: Nordics is coming soon on GOG!

The narrative unfolds amidst the northern expanse of Obelia Bay, a picturesque region adorned with myriad islands, both large and small. Ys X: Nordics introduces an exciting tale set within this enchanting locale, centered around the daring exploits of the youthful adventurer, Adol Christin.

P-E-S: Considering they always consist of wardrobe that would feel completely out of place in a game or simply cheat items that's very easy to do. ;)
Well, Trails into Reverie - SSS Summer Splash Set does include a new day dream for the game.
Good and bad news: YS Nordics is probably available tomorrow on GOG, yet only precisely announced on Steam, PS5 and Switch. It has been updated on the biggest platform only very recently and still no precise price is known to us, few days before launch. The only price known to me is the Nintendo Switch and PS5-physical price, which is a Deluxe edition with the content of a digital Standard-edition (DLCs are never on the physical media)... going for 55 EUR on Amazon. Albeit, the digital editions tends to be pricier than the physical editions, so i would not smile way to soon.

Despite the generally "sneaky" release without preorder, which is a new trend for some games; there are of course a lot of DLCs available but the bad thing is not the amount nor the price of them, because those wo can afford should simply "sneeze" it out of their nostrils. The actually bad news is, there are lot of FOMO which are actually true missables and one of this "missable" is the full artbook which can only be gotten buying the Ultimate-Edition. Indeed the price of this edition is not known yet, but it is safe to say it is big enough that even some Porsche drivers may not anymore buy it "for breakfast"... rather for lunch with a extra grain of salt. I would say, there was never so many "good missables" ever in any game and it will not become added later, this has never happened on those games.

Another good news is: Yes, according to my demo-play on the PS5 it is a great game, a real YS i would say, simply the stuff those fans seem to enjoy. Actually not so good news for someone low on coins as it might be a "loss".

Previously, with "Legend of Heroes, Daybreak", it was sufficient to get the Deluxe Edition for not having any "missables" as it was including the full artbook and some other goodies. With "YS Monstrum Nox" it looks like the artbook and other goodies can not be gotten anymore, just the 4 DLC packages. However... this game was much cheaper priced back at those old days (less than 100 coins for the Ultimate). Daybreak Ultimate has become inflated to nearly 150 coins for me (current shop price, no kidding).

If GoG got all the stuff available, then it it will be the "supreme" version, yet, it surely will have to highest price worldwide of any version because there are close to no "poor countries-price cuts".

Besides: Durante did not get paid for his extra work on creating a "coop-mode" which is EN-release only and only thanks to his efforts.

Why they do not preorder? Answer is here:

"""Why doesn't NISA do PC preorders the last few years?

Pre-purchase is not solely up to the publishers. Valve only allows pre-purchase for certain partners if they have a proven track record and Valve believes the pre-purchase period will see an acceptable return. Valve has said that they have internal data that shows pre-purchase periods actually harm sales for all but the biggest releases. """"

If the price matches the digital Switch versions, ain't no way I'm paying 50-70€ more for a freaking artbook.

The artbook should be included to be honest. It is just sheer greed the whole mentality on how they handle it. Because they know exactly, most fans may be able to pass on the usual DLCs and a "broken soundtrack" but what it will hurt them the most is that they get no artbook, you could almost think they are sadistic. If this is not already mean, the artbook will be gone after 2 weeks, forever.

I do not think that Nihon Falcom is appreciating it but, it appears NIS is very successful getting the coins rolling, for whatever reason, so they just close their eyes and say "for our own sake". Regarding Durante... he is doing great work but he is actually the "weakest" chain here in term of power... at least officially... for the gamers he is probably the "hero in disguise"... saving the in some terms "bad day". His small team is basically improving the game engine and other functionalities, which is the reason the EN version will run far better than the other versions released on the Asia market. Even on the Switch, it will probably run very smooth i guess thanks to a lot of optimizations done by his small team.

Not sure what causes you this amount of confusion but normally, NISA adds a "lite" version of the artbook with standard editions for a limited time.

IF the full artbook is included in any of the higher tiers, it will be permanently available.

At any rate, if you were so worried about disappearing artbooks, you should have bought the (PS4/5 or switch) physical Limited Edition from their shop. Printed artbooks do not disappear. ;)
It;s what i did. But will also buy the standard edition from gog coz that's where i want to play it.
According to the newest info, the full artbook is Ultimate only and for a limited time. The lite artbook is for all version and as well launch period only.

Just for the record. I can not say "how big" this artbook from the current game appears to be... not released yet. What i can say is that the full artbook... actually the "real artbook" from "LoH Daybreak" is 125 pages and pretty neat. Compared to this, the "lite artbook" from the same game is 11 pages only... the difference is huge. The lite arbook, how you may call it... is just fake... so people think they get something nice but it is actually useless.

Regarding the physical edition... it just got a mini artbook... the lite one, which is in this case 11 pages. If they would print the full artbook... holy cow... it will cost them some serious money, and it might finally worth to pay a "Ultimate price" for. In any case... the only thing truly worth is it the full artbook.

Considering the missable DLCs, no clue how good those items seems to be but if i hear the name "Legendary armor" it is probably not the weakest armor ingame, just guessing now. The Pikkard Afficinado pack is "just" cosmetics, basically 3 costumes : Pikkard Suit (Adol) Pikkard Suit (Karja) Pickaback Pikkard, but for many "fans" probably almost must have; available only 2 weeks... gone after.

You are confusing the mini artbook present in the physical D1 (deluxe) edition with the full artbook of the Limited Edition.....
sigh.... allow me to demonstrate....
https://eustore.nisaeurope.com/products/ys-x-nordics-limited-edition?_pos=1&_psq=nordics&_ss=e&_v=1.0

Note that both artbooks are present in this edition. We clear now? Ok? Good.
We are "gooood"... depends. The thing is: The full physical artbook from the "Limited Edition"; which should be on par with the "Ultimate edition artbook" is only available on the official NIS store, no other place. If we add shipping and what else... if even possible to my country (and if so, very high custom taxes will apply, it will cost around 150 CHF, this is certain)... is surely same price compared to the Ultimate digital edition and... still not all the DLC items yet.

If you want a physical artbook, can still print it yourself. But for this to become possible, obviously the full digital artbook is required. In any case, both artbooks can not realistically become taken away, as long as it is backed up well.

This stuff is just messy but ultimately i can say... the best "bang for the bucks" would be the GOG edition, clearly, according to my past experience. Not really worth it to deal with the very difficult to get "Limited Editions", as NIS is to lazy and to greedy handing it over to a local store of any country (especially mine) producing high custom taxes (my country is not in the EU or US, mind it). The local stores got "special conditions" and can import stuff much cheaper (there are duty fees, not just the taxes itself) than a "private importer". Believe me i know the deal because 20+ years ago i was importing a lot of US and JP stuff to my location. Those old days are gone since the days of PS3 and up but in general the "import stuff" just got even worse as my country is a "protectionist country" seeking to raise prices the highest level possible, with the exception of the "big importers" because they always get special conditions. Of course, almost everything is possible... if someone got the coins of a Porsche-driver. If not... rather deal with common sense and know your limits, which will save you from debt and tears.

Besides, yes... we have a local store that surely would "buy in" many of those LE boxes, but they will have to be validated as a "reseller" from NIS, else impossible. As long as this stuff is not happening, i would recommend just to get the GOG version.

Oh and regarding the soundtrack... this one is still "Lite"... so perhaps 15 tracks or so. The full OST can only be gotten from JP at a price... i do not dare to say, lets just pretend it does not exist, better for everyones nerves.

i can still smile: Looking at all those "possible costs" of certain games WITH full goodies... in comparison the PS5 Pro price looks almost like a garbage buyable by a "poor rat"... so, different angles may always help for the perception, everything is relative.
