You're right i was not ready for this.

I would have preferred a cel shaded look but this looks decent enough. Even comes with JP audio.

Wishlisted out of pure nostalgia. Out of all of Go Nagai's works, this has always been my favourite.

Finally something new that looks really interesting to me. Would prefer Mazinger Z instead of Grendizer, but I'll take it. Wishlisted.

More of a Sei Juushi Bismarck guy myself (born a bit too late) but I can appreciate what looks like one of the originators(?) of the Super Robot/Mecha vs. Super Robot/Mecha subgenre turned into a decent-looking game.
Mental-note made.
Reminds me of the Korean movie Goldwing that came out in 78.
ITS LIKE MAZINGER Z !!!!! , but no is it.....the game looks great , i keep on eye overs this game ! sorry for my bad english !!!!!

It is one of the originals, Grendizer is a Go Nagai series, he's the man who essentially created the 'super robot' genre.

It's like Mazinger because it's the same creator, this one came out not long after the original Mazinger Z.

Yep. He already had drafts for Goldrake and how the disc was operating when he created Mazinga. As I understood they left that out because it cost too much at the time, so he put it into his next project.

There is also at least one crossover episode.

Mazinga was allways more on the comedy side while Goldrake/Grendizer was more serious. There is even a episode where Mazinga goes oan a date with another giant robot, making a third one jealous (of course it's all about the pilots, but they make their robots act like real people).

It's a direct sequel of Mazinger, the main character or Mazinger is a secondary character in it. Which is one of the reason why it originally was less popular in Japan originally as fan of the former were not really happy to have their hero replaced by a totally new guy.
Spazer Gameplay

"Get ready for an unforgettable adventure with Grendizer, the famous giant robot. This action-adventure game, adapted from the cult anime series, will take you deep into the world of its creator, Go Nagai, and give you the chance to pilot the most powerful robot and fight the forces of evil."
Ironically enough, no anime distributor in the USA has licensed Grendizer's anime. I dunno about Europe.
