Cavalary: some users who were looking for something of the sort
I played Alba recently and it was decent even though it is fairly basic. From the trailer this one looks more like an adventure game that sometimes involves photography while Alba is "run around with a camera", which seems more like what people were asking for in that thread.

The Witness has an optional "find the dot and trail pattern in the scenery" part (there are black obelisks that show how many you have found scattered around the island), although the game page doesn't mention this. It is one of the things I really like about that game (once I finally got into it after seeing other recommendations; there is no tutorial and I thought it was just another bugged Humble Bundle game when I first tried to play it and got stuck). It is quite neat, for some of them you need to stand in exactly the right place to be able to see the pattern (and I still haven't found them all).
