Criminal mind... games.

The Silver Case, a crime adventure/visual novel steeped in mystery and political intrigue, is now fully remastered and coming soon, DRM-free on GOG.com.

The city is gripped by fear. A mysterious serial killer leaves a trail of bodies, taunting the authorities and terrorizing the population. But the murders seem connected to the infamous "Silver Case" from 20 years back, which costed the lives of many political figures. Could it be that the elusive Kamui Uehara is back? And if so, why did he or she stop killing 20 years ago?
A special forces unit is tasked with putting an end to these gruesome murders. As its member, you'll need to investigate the city's shadows, squeeze information out of unwilling witnesses, and solve puzzles that may reveal you the evidence you need. Originally released in 1999 without English localization, The Silver Case is the fully remastered version of the cult classic, which introduced us to SUDA51's twisted realm of dark imagination.

Wishlist The Silver Case and prepare to be thrust into an intriguing world of lies, betrayal, and murder -- DRM-free on GOG.com.
Eh. I've played a number of Suda's games over the years. While they've all been interesting in the 'off-the-wall crazy' kind of way, I've yet to actually play one that I found to be actually good or particularly fun. *shrug* I'll probably pass.

gixgox: I'm in.
I play the stand-alone FREE trial version just now, and can't wait to get the full game.

Cecco: thanks! I'm gonna try this. I'm always looking for games in Japanese.
I suspect it's too heavy for my computer. How come an old PSX game needs 4 gb ram and is 7 gb heavy? Is it a remake?
I might be happy with the classic version actually, as I don't care for the English translation and must be lighter.
Remaster, probably the lowest specs it has been tested on as always. They don't post lower specs as they wouldn't be able to guarantee it actually works.

AlexY: However, I'm probably getting the physical edition, it's just too good to pass up.
Sadly, it won't include a GoG key to unlock a digital copy of the game here, only a Steam key. Maybe I'll just stick with the GoG Deluxe Digital version. I think the most important is to support this game on GoG, if we'd like to continue to see Suda51's games here.

Don't you have a PlayStation 3/Portable/Vita ? If so, why you don't purchase it on the PlayStation Store ?

I have given away all my consoles so at the moment I don't own any. And I guess I never will anymore. I'd rather get an "average" gaming laptop or desktop. Anyway, P Network? No, I'd just look for a copy.
That said, the demo runs on my 512 mb VRAM, 3 GB ram Ubuntu 16.04 desktop.
And it's not about a case made of silver, it's actually a "silver accident". That's the main plot twist until now.

Starmaker: She's a huge fan of Killer7.
Played this one so much it turned into Killer8 and I'm not kiddin' ;P

I'd say it's "The Silver Incident" rather than "Accident". More like a crime or something like that. That's what Jiken means as far as I know.

Yes, it's what I meant. In Italian it's just the same word (incident, accident= incidente) so I got confused. An accident would be a jiko. Jiken is also used in politics, war crimes, coup d'etaits. I find it very euphemistic sometimes.
Looks interesting.
Is this just a visual novel or does it have any interactivity? I usually tend to fall asleep when trying visual novels.

It's more like an old Japanese adventure game rather than a VN - still lots of reading though.

Ahhh, it makes sense now. For a second after looking at the screenshots I thought that the artstyle was way too good to be done by non-Japanese dev. I swear whenever Western devs try to imitate Japanese artstyle, no matter how how they try, you can always tell it wasn't done by Japanese artist. Huniepop for example.

Hey, no Huniepop dishing! Besides, there was nothing wrong with the art, the character proportions were fine...

Huniepop art is good, but you can tell it was done by a Western artist. Have you seen all those Western-made Visual novels on Steam aping anime style? They look awful. I swear I'm not being a weaboo about this, I'm just saying that if you are going for a certain artstyle you should at least do it right.
