GOG.com: Meet over twelve alien races...
Sooo... Thirteen? Am I the only one who thinks this is a very odd turn of phrase with such a specific number? It's on the game card as well. "More than twenty" would seem natural, but "more than twelve"? Sounds deliberately vague, in an odd sort of way.

Tarhiel: Damn, and I thought this is tease about The Longest Journey: Home game Ragnar was talking about, that he would like to do after Dreamfall Chapters.

LiefLayer: me too LOL
Same here. Why, GOG, why?
This looks interesting. I'd really like to know what the text or UI part of the game looks like though and see a bit of the gameplay.

Same here, my heart skipped a beat there. Loved Chapters and really want TLJH.
Even mentioning the name "Alpha Centauri" sets the bar very high... :P And that scene in the trailer with that concentric machine, reminded me of the movie "Contact". Anyway, this is right up my alley, but my system's specs aren't gonna cut it so I'll pass.

Maybe it is twelve races plus whatever races the incoming DLCs will bring? Just saying...
The title, "The Long Journey Home", is epic! Please, let the game's quality match its title.
The base idea is good and I love space games BUT I need to see some gameplay before considering this.

yeah, odd. Maybe "meet over zero alien races" would really make the sky the limit!
The voice acting seems so-so, if that is what we will see in the game...
Sounds interesting in some ways, not so interesting in others (roguelike elements).

Sounds great due to the roguelike elements!
Not thrilled with the roguelike elements...

Ping!

Maybe they're still considering adding more of them.

"It was only supposed to be a test-flight - a jaunt to Alpha Centauri and back. But when your jump-drive malfunctions, you and a mismatched crew along for the ride find yourselves trapped and alone on the wrong side of the galaxy. Now, the only way back home... is through."

The Homeworld vibe is omnipresent..
Fall 2016, huh? Can I have it now then?

I like space exploration games but I'm not thrilled about it being roguelike. I have too many games to play to keep replaying the same one over and over again just to get to the end.

EDIT: I wonder if you can customize your ship or even explore planets on foot?
