Pixel art, point & click indie adventure – The Legend of Skye is coming soon to GOG!

In The Legend of Skye you’ll step into the shoes of a young druid who will be called upon by her tribe to undertake an important mission. After some events in her village, she will have to leave behind the safety of the forest and venture into a world full of dangers. The young druid must infiltrate the city and thwart the plans of the wicked King Finn. The fate of the grove will be in her hands.

It is the first professional graphic adventure from Point & Pixel Adventures. It retains the point & click gameplay, inventory items, and the use of the 9 verbs from classic 90s adventures.

You'll need to pay attention to dialogues with characters and be observant of your surroundings to solve the clever puzzles and challenges that the adventure has in store for you.

Make sure to wishlist it now so you won’t miss its release or any special offer!

Interesting.
Let me add some info from the dev website:

About me

Carles Moya

Hi! I was born in Barcelona, 1988. I studied Physical Sciences, I have worked in a software company and I currently teach mathematics and physics. I like drawing and obviously graphic adventures.

The Castle was the first project of IshtarGames, now Point & Pixel Adventures. I’m currently working on The Legend of Skye, which I’m sure you’ll love.

Thank you very much to all the people who support me, you encourage me to keep going.

GOG.com: thwart the plans of the wicked King Finn. The fate of the grove will be in her hands.
I'm curious to see how much historic detail and references the story of the game will have to offer.

Looks kinda nice, but I do wish more devs would realise, like for example Daedalic used to in their point & click days, that you can carry on the old-school spirit without being so completely stuck in the 90s.
That's an interface I haven't seen in a while. ;)

I am certainly interested, I hope it delivers the feel of the early days.
I definitely feel strong vibes of Loom and Simon the Sorcerer here. Also a bit of Legend of Kyrandia.

The selection of characters, as displayed on the product page, is almost too reminiscent of the classics.

I hope, we'll see more soon. (Not soon™.)
The Secret of Monkey Island meets Loom with a taste of The Legend of Kyrandia. Looks very appealing, I'll probably buy it... somewhere.
Hello!

I like the pixel art of the two squirrels on the news banner. ;-)

In general, the artwork is done well, lots of non-repeating details and shades. But I do not like the character designs.
The little tune that is playing during one of the scenes in the trailer is more than reminiscent of the Monkey Island theme, though!

Kind regards,
foxgog

[P.S.:]
Doing some pixel art sprite work recently, drawing them myself to replicate something which gives a hint of depth with color gradients and shades, I can appreciate the effort that must have went even in such low resolution images and works. Sure, with more experience, time and resources there are more impressive things that can be done in higher resolution or actual 3D models. However, one should not underestimate the efforts in creating detailed, readable pixel art.

Comments like this are one of the best things about this forum. When someone else also remembers random, strange and nearly forgotten games/events from over 20 years ago.

have my +1.
I don't care if the art looks like it's been directly lifted from Simon the Sorcerer this is an easy wishlist.
