Great curation GOG!
Bun Bo Nam Bo anyone? :p
You said "Bum" *giggles* :p
From the game page:
100+ unique items that can be modified and upgraded
80+ unique trinkets that give neato passive abilities
4+ playable characters, each with their own unique abilities
10 ugly-yet-cute bosses
30 enemies
Amazing music by Ridiculon!
Loads of unlockables!
Animated cutscenes that will make you feel bad!
Poop!

Note that last one, yes "Poop!" Now if I had been at all interested in the game (which admittedly I was not at all) you would have lost me right there. When did that become something you would advertise as having in your game? Why would anyone want that? Are we all supposed to be six year olds and think poop is funny?

Usually when a game is not for me I just ignore it and move on, but for some reason I just couldn't leave this alone. Is this really the society we live in now? Maybe I am just tired and need to go to bed.

If anyone can enjoy a game like this, more power to you I guess. I certainly can't.
"Another Nicalis game? It'd be nice to see 1001 Spikes, Nightsky, Tiny Barbarian DX, Castle In The Darkness, etc. here.

https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/1001_spikes , etc." - me in another thread

Its kinda the calling card of the Binding of Issaac set up as the first game and its DLCs has that as some sort of humor to say poop in game and variants of it put in via dlcs as a feature.. or thing.. I don't get it myself but its standard for even games copying the binding of Issaac factors to even do similar.. to me though ''toilet humor is the lowest of the low up there with '' Injury to the groin'' humorbut atleast in that case its not as gross for obvious reasons

Poop, Piss, and Snot are 3 of the basic "resources" (the pieces you are trying to align in the puzzle).

"The Legend of Bumbo" is a puzzle combat game, that got pasted on the theme of "The Binding of Isaac" (a game from the same author) in an attempt to stand out. That means everything has been purposedly designed to be ugly, gross and unpleasant. Many Isaac fans tried this game, saw it had mechanically nothing to do with Isaac, found it rather unremarkable, and moved on.

It's not shovelware, it's not even a bad game. But it's not a great game and is ugly as hell.

Ya agreed on this also fyi you missed a good pun by not saying'' ugly as sin'' given the prior games theme it has going on
Is this like a spin-off game nobody asked for.
I really like Isaac itself though.

MasterofFiction: [...]
While I never really actively interacted with the Binding of Isaac it has been highly recommended to me back in the days by someone I know in real life who is in a few ways (with surprising exceptions) conservative (that's little-c conservative, not big-C nutcase). It does have a robust sense of humour though from what I know and a rather serious undertone.

The principal factor behind the Binding of Isaac then did quite a few other things, including kickstarting a card placement game featuring Tapeworms. It should be safe to assume, if you look at something Edmund McMillen touched, you know what you are getting into.

Speaking of poo, the dude who drew the Dragonball manga also has a (differently) weird sense of humour and he proceeded to do enemy designs for AAA JRPGs. That's why you can run into poo snakes in the right games.

All of that aside, even though the theme of any McMillan game might take some getting used, the Binding of Isaac (especially the remake) is a contestant for best roguelike ever and Bum-bo is a new entry in the genre by the same guy.
Haven't seen a single bad game from Edmund McMillen yet. Binding of Isaac and Super Meatboy are classic masterpieces in their genres. So this will be an instabuy for me.
