How old is that, about 20 years old? I think that was the last time I saw those characters.

The cynic in me thinks that the original game's characters already looked like Happy Tree Friends and maybe the original game idea was already based on those and that they have just now finally negotiated a deal to use the Happy Tree Friends character artwork in exchange for a license fee.
