The undead classic Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse is available in pre-order on GOG.COM!

It’s 1959 and the city of Punchbowl, PA, is a beacon of progress and ideal living. As Stubbs the Zombie, you’ll show the living that law and order are no match for a dead man on a mission.

Never would have imagined that Stubbs would make a return to digital stores. Really nice game with the Halo 1 engine if I remember correctly.
The original runs without problems on a radeon system. Except the sound is dead. It uses OpenAl and has EAX support. But maybe only my onboard-sound is the problem.

For OpenAL use https://openal-soft.org/
Copy the 32 bit binary into the game directory and rename it to OpenAL32.dll
I got the sound working using that.

Also I had to rename the game's .exe file to "CODSP.exe". That way I didn't have to tweak the nvidia drivers.

For games that use surround through EAX DirectSound, use https://www.indirectsound.com/
That restored the surround sound for Vampire The Masquerade Redemption.
But: It does not support EAX DSP effects, it just brings back surround.

An Alternative to indirectsound might be https://github.com/kcat/dsoal
That one redirects direct sound to OpenALSoft. But I haven't tried it yet.

Now all I need is a AWE emulator for Croc Leggend of the Gobbos (it plays some ambience sound effects through AWE Midi).

Edit: Just so I have mentioned everything:
For the best MIDI sound in old games use https://coolsoft.altervista.org/en/virtualmidisynth
and use some hq sound fonts like Arachno, back it up with 8mbgm_enhanced, in case some instruments are missing. Another very good font is HQ Orchestral Soundfont Collection v3, but it's not ideal for games, in my opinion the sound is too different from the old MIDI boards. It's better for people who want to compose new stuff.

Stubbs will come out today, I guess this evening. Does someone know if the price will stay the same or if it goes up?
If the latter, I guess, I should pre-order as long as it is possible.

Thanks in advance for the answer. :-)

Maxvorstadt: or if it goes up?
It's already a massive ripoff at its current price of $19.99 USD for an obsolete ancient game.

I highly doubt they'd try to push it any further.

How is it obsolete?
