Better get ready – because ROGUE-FP is coming soon on GOG!

This game is a blend of old school gameplay and new school controls. Experience a classically styled roguelike in a way you never have before!

Wishlist it now!

GOG.com: Coming soon: ROGUE-FP
I like the 10th screenshot. That one reminds me of "Temple of Apshai", etc., which I loved playing as a kid.
But the rest...not so much.
How about finally adding the original to the catalogue?

Basically I see it as the original but with additional First person mode. Apparently you can switch to classic ascii mode and play the game like in 1980

Anyways the original DOS Epyx version is available on Steam if I am not wrong. So I would be a nice addition here, indeed.
Nerd factor 11/10. Normally, I'm not a fan of ostentatious retro (just re-release the original instead), but this has got some really enchanting aesthetics to it. Wishlisted, and if my perception is the same in a week or two, to be bought.
Looks like Matrix code that went... rogue.

Rule #17. Perception inclines with N, where N = now() - salary.last.date(). Exact function undocumented.

C&P'D FROM MY STEAM POST:

I really, really, REALLY want this game, save for one thing standing in my way...

This has ALL the boxes that I require in a must-have game that are ticked, save for perma-death, as it's the one gameplay mechanic that I despise.

Unlike most people with the gambler's itch, I DESPISE wasted effort… As putting in your best effort for nothing is infuriating for those who aren't into gambling, as that is essentially what this gameplay mechanic is custom-made for.

Sure, it's a great adrenaline rush if you're in your twenties, there is no denying that, hence its popularity. But if you're in your 40s onwards, you don't have time to be wasting in a game where you have to begin all over again thousands of times due to an unforeseen death trap, or it's like!

That's the thing about this mechanic, as it's a gameplay mechanic with constant repetition for those with a gambler's itch, it's how and why it's so popular. So for those who do not have the gambler's itch, it's a complete waste of time…

Had this game included perma-death as a separate mode for those with the gambler's itch, I would snag this game right now **if it was available…

It's frustratingly dismaying, as this game is everything that I crave!
