I'm still waiting for the Command and Conquer originals. :P

It probably goes without saying, but don't get your hopes up for a long time, if ever, sorry.

But there's no reason to prefer the originals. The Remaster has everything the original had, only that they now work on modern systems. Plus if that's something you want, you could use higher quality assets such as audio and graphical sprites. You also get the additional campaigns from the consoles, that were never released on PC. All of that for $20, which comes to $10 for Command and Conquer, and $10 for Red Alert, which I find completely reasonable. The only disadvantage that I can think of, is that the Remaster is 25GB due to the uncompressed assets.

I don't think we actually need them on gog though. The originals are freeware and can be downloaded (legally) from the community sites in fanpatched versions that already work out of the box on modern system, with a lot of new features such as functional a multiplayer component and native widescreen resolution support.

If GOG ever puts the originals here, they're likely to push a version of the games that works out of the box but is closer to to the original versions as well in terms of functionality - so without the new features of the fanpatched version. Considering the freeware versions would still be available, it'd be kind of a waste of time.

I would like Red Alert 2 being here though (Tiberian Sun is also freeware), just to have a place to buy that game without having to deal with Origin. Same thing for Generals though I'm not personally interested in that one.

There are several reasons, system requirements, compatibility with older systems, compatibility with Linux, ... But the main reason for me is that the remasters are infested with shop specific extensions.

For me Command and Conquer means the whole series, not only the first game, sorry for being misleading. Having the first games in the series also on GOG might not be strictly necessary, but it still would be nice.

Good catch, Egipt is Egypt in Polish, so GOG is the culprit here probably.
Good news! The game got a release date on GOG, February 15th - 6 days to release! :-)
Delayed almost a year despite being a reboot of a 90s game.

They hired an Egyptologist to verify some things in the game were authentic.

Very interested to see the price on release. Caesar 3 with Julius/Augustus (fan made reboots) is better than the original Pharaoh.
