Indeed.
ooohhhh a number 2??! cant wait to try this one, the first one was really good I must say.
Outlast was a really great game! It's a good competitor to the Silent Hill series!

Is there an ETA?

steam so far says 2017 so my guess is early to mid if anything.
I didn't have too much doubt, but I'm glad to see confirmation that it's coming to GOG. I never got too far into the original, but I really liked what I played. Looking forward to finishing it and Whistleblower before 2 comes out!
AAAHH!!!! HYPE! HYPE! HYPE! Come on everybody! Raise your arms and wet your pants!!!
I still haven't got the first one. I saw some videos and while the atmosphere seems to be great, there were far too many jump scares for my liking. I know I'll get it at some point, maybe when I grow up and not be afraid of monthterth. :P

So, how is Outlast compared to Silent Hill?
Does it run in Windowed mode?
Can I play with XBOX gamepad?
Sorry, couldn't help myself. :P
Yay! Hail Satan! LOL!
Yay now we'll have both :P

:D

Yes it does have windowed mode!
Since it's an FPS, I used kb+mouse. But from what I've read it can work with a controller.
It also uses Unreal Engine 3.

As for Silent Hill, it definitely captures the creepy atmosphere. There is no "Otherworld" transition because the environment is always dark and foreboding. But unlike SH, the protagonist cannot fight back, so one has to run away from any threats like in Amnesia.

I loved the original, but I'm a little concerned about two things:

- Will it live up to the original? Whistleblower was lukewarm at best, with a heavy more-of-the-same-but-not-nearly-as-good feel to it. I hope the devs manage to do something genuinely new in this one instead of doing another copy-paste job.

- The original was released at a VERY competitive price point. Even the standard $20 is a pretty good price for a game of the original Outlast's caliber, but it was released here at a measly $13! I hope the new one won't cost a multitude of that.

It took me these last two hours, staring at the computer screen, wondering "WHAT DOES IT MEAN?!", but I think my mind finally penetrated the cloak of their subtlety as well.
It's a Chariots of Fire reference.
In hindsight, it's somewhat obvious, really.
