The demo is nice, and we don't have many things like this on GOG. It's made with Unity and it tries to use your internet connection, I'm not sure why an off-line, single player game should do that.

Just put it on your firewall's blacklist (both for in- and outgoing connections) and you should be fine.

Also agreed on the lack of similar games on GOG. If GOG is looking into rectifying that - Ynglet (https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/ynglet) looks intriguing.
Isn´t this form the same creator as Osmos?

Not unless they've changed their name. Osmos was Hemisphere Games, this is Lance/Mixtvision.

All right. Since the striking similarity (and I played one freeware game like that as well) I thought it might be the very same people behind it.

I suspect crypto mining or data mining. Very sus indeed.
Hi :)
After a small search, the firewall pop up is most likely due to Unity itself collecting data without any way for devs to disable it. Currently we do absolutely nothing with internet ourselves (although we may add analytics in the future to check if there are difficulty spikes or things like that). In any case, you can refuse it without any impact on the game!
