GOG.com: Coming soon: Iron Meat
While not exactly my kind of game anymore - it looks nicely done.

They just announced a release date of September 26,,,, hope GOG gets same day release and not get delayed to favour other stores.
Ooh now that's more like it, been hoping to get this one. Toxic Crusaders game next please Retroware!

I suppose if one is being inspired by Metal Slug and/or Contra, that would be the way to do it.
I was waiting for this... glad to see it coming!

The publisher already stated he'll put all his games on GOG. No worries, Retroware are committed to having all their titles on both GOG and yes, even itch. So The Transylvanian Adventure will be released as well, which the dev updates quite a bit for on his Xitter.

Oh sweet, thanks for the heads up. I hadn't seen that totally not castlevania game of theirs before, looks like a fun tongue in cheek tribute.
I've just played the demo and it was pretty awesome. It's totally Contra although I never really played those games back then.
The only thing I don't like about the demo was that you can't quit the game without losing all of your progress. Who has the time to finish an entire game nowadays? Even some rogue-lites can be "save & quit".... But maybe that's just the demo.

Iron Meat, Iron Meat
Sounds like porn, but it's not
Look out!
Here comes the Iron Meat!
Looks fun, and a demo? Count me in.
Not entirely my kind of thing, but the demo's pretty fun. Nice smooth scrolling, which shouldn't be worth mentioning but some Unity devs manage to not achieve that for some reason. You kinda have to play with the dpad; using the analog stick technically works but is limited to 8 directions which feels weird. I think the gameplay would be a little better without the 8 directions limit, but that is faithful to old-school arcade games which is what I guess they were going for.
Loved the look of this since the first time I saw footage of this game at Realms Deep. +1 for the wishlist.
Looks helltastic so onto my favorites pile it goes.

I had the same thought when reading the title. Great minds and all that?

Nice to hear, thank you. Guess I'll also wait for The Transylvania Adventure of Simon Quest, then.
