Us: Can we have Stray?
GOG: We have Stray at home.
I don't normally play action games, but I may make an exception for a game involving a hero cat out for vengeance against an army of evil toys. It's really going to depend on the price. Wishlisted for now.
Hello Clownski_,

If you read this message, I'm sorry and I had no bad intentions with this post.

Yeeeeah, I've lost count of how many times this or "We'll substitute it for a cheap Polish knockoff and nobody will be the wiser" has happened.

Also, when is GOG going to hire Swedrami to automate news posts manually for them?
It's nothing like Stray, it's a third-person combat game. It has a cat in it, but "a game with a cat = must be trying to be Stray" is a particularly superficial take. The cat could be swapped out for something else (note: cats are not normally bipedal) and it wouldn't change the game any, whereas Stray is specifically cat-based and an entirely different type of game.

What's up with the Cybertrucks tho.

Why Polish? Mind you, I'm not offended or anything like that, just curious. I thought Polish games have a pretty good reputation these day (the trainwreck rlease of Cyberpunk notwithstanding)

I really don't want to be a jerk about this, because I do appreciate the effort and intention behind this, but I have to wonder if these necroes are really the best way to go about it. I mean, 8 release threads reappearing, some from years ago... wouldn't a single "updates about GOG games" thread be a better solution?

Yes, thank you, Captain Obvious. Your next mission, should you choose to accept it, will be to explore the strange and fascinating concept of a "joke".

Again that weird issue with necroing...
When you have existing threads about certain games, it seems logical to put updates about said games in those threads. Such a thread becoming active again is likely to draw the attention of those who have an interest in the games it's for (and definitely will for those who favorited it), while those who don't will know to ignore it, and keeps everything about said games in the same place, also offering easy access to any relevant past discussions or developments.

It's not that I have a problem with the games being from Poland, just that I can't tell if it's favouritism because they enjoy local coding scenes, or just more simply blatant nationalism. Sometimes it feels like we've had absolute wins of titles passed up on because someone found an ersatz version that was developed locally.
(I should probably mention that I have nearly zero national pride and detest the concept; I'd defect to another country rather quickly given half a chance and a good reason.)

Or that in the case of other titles, they'll aim lower and go for a poorer substitute. I'm willing to forgive complicated situations such as Balatro being given a kiss of death by PEGI, but even that appears to have been cleared up as having just checked now, there's no entry in the database.

And instead of Balatro we got some...damningly average solitaire game.

In short, it's just the question if there's a bias in the curation.

As for the thread Necromancy, I've said my peace on the matter, and it's obvious that none at GOG care about thread necros; thought indeed it would be preferable in my opinion to lead these posts to one of the many threads where such news is indeed already collated.
