Everspace 2 in it's state looks awesome, so as for me - Everspace 2 - one of the most desirable space game of 2021! Of courese if Devs will don't destroy all cool stuff.
P.S. Everspace 1 with DLC so cute - it's in one level with Galaxy on Fire 2 Full HD, and such words from me - The greatest praise!
The arcade-y Everspace thing with more of an RPG feel sounds awesome. Color me interested.
Is this going to be a sequel to the story of the first? I never finished that.
Just tried the demo ...nice. liked it even though im not a spacey arcadey fan
Did that kickstarter thing, looking forward to getting my GOG copy as a reward when the time comes :)

However, if the issue was fixed meanwhile, it is great!
I put a message with my personal experience, so as not to discourage newcomers.
I hope other messages will confirm that all is well.

The response from the developers seemed categorical and really disappointing.
If the problem was solved, the developers could also inform the users of GOG, right?
I'm not sure I'll buy a game when I see comments like these!

And now EVERSPACE is one of my favorite games.

Well, I've just checked myself with my copy of the game. Gamepads work but not joysticks. (F710/F310 are not joysticks by the way). Unfortunately the developer can't be bothered with this.

That's unfortunate, of course, since native support would be great... but not necessarily a deal-breaker, as there are many keyboard/mouse/gamepad/joysticks remappers out there you can use (for example AntiMicroX).

From their reply to the initial problem with Everspace, it looks like they were using a similar system internally anyway (as a plugin).

I just understood, my translator changes indifferently "joysticks" into "Gamepads".
Thank you, because I was thinking of buying a Joystick for EVERSPACE 2!
Is there a Joystick embedded in SDL that is auto-detected by the kernel and requires no installation?

Thank you, AntiMicroX is interesting, I will certainly use it, should it be made known to ROCKFISH ?

I got to play an early beta of this game and it was already fun. I am looking forward to this release. They took everything good from from the first Everspace and made it even more fun while leaving out the stuff that stunk.

This is gonna be a must buy.

Why not use a keymapper for your joystick? A joystick is a piece of hardware and every one is built sort of different. Troubleshooting different joysticks is not part of any game makers agenda. Especially when over %90 of players will be using a mouse and keyboard.

Their response is a common courtesy to acknowledge that they have read your post and have potentially taken it into consideration. Nobody has the man hours to go through each and every post and make up a custom reply. Finishing the game in a timely manner is their priority.

I am really surprised by this statement...

_I may be naive, but I think that discussing the project you are working on is sometimes more than a polite thing to do.
It allows a moment of sharing his work, and sometimes more confidence to continue, don't you think ? Ex: Asylum
_And if it's not too late some comments may have their importance, some games have already changed, following ideas expressed on a forum.

_But the truth is probably in between?
The AAA follow their projects without worrying about the players, and the small studios are more attentive, No?
Thank you for sharing, it's an interesting idea.
