Three-party system means just that, literally limited to three parties? A couple of screenshots seem to say so...
Guess the series moved up from two parties, but the devs should really figure out how to implement a proper political system there, allowing for many parties and also independents. For example, see the Danish or Dutch parliaments, just for how many have representatives. And election lists in many other countries for how many run. India has well over 2000 registered parties I see. That'd be better to try to emulate, and desirable, not just the big party power plays and partisan politics.
I wonder if this will finally be the one that fixes the simulations with thoughtful corrections, such as getting rid of the stupid and wrong [factually incorrect] "legalized drugs increases crime" rather than it being prohibition that causes crime...

Have they managed to get it right yet? Democracy I mean. It’s been in progress since the romans and we have got to the us election debate last night, so obviously a long way to go.

I'm surprised they made it past 3, given how well, blatantly a cash grab it was.

And I see they're still basing things on Uncle Sam's version of a (Semi) Democratic Republic rather than say a Representational Voted Democracy or any other such systems that you've watched a longform video from Mr. Grey on Youtube.

I used to play second and third iterations of this game. Yes, it's still exactly the same game. Bought all the DLC's and all. Once Africa came out, it was crystal clear what's wrong with both the game and it's developer. It seemed that whenever he bothered to watch few videos on YT and got inspired by someones opinions on politics, then that's where the "game" and DLC's came from. Not based on facts, studies or respectful theories. Oh no. It's all based on biased crackpots who only fantasize about politics and how things ought to be.

Is there any reason for this - other than trying to monetise US presidential election, that is?
It barely has any innovations or drastic changes to the current engine and it's mechanics. Most of the graphics are the same, soundtrack is the same. Most indie devs create more sophisticated games at jams in less than 48 hours. But this one charges money for something that can hardly be called a game. It's a feckin' joke. Sad one though.

Lazy. Really lazy indeed.

Funny that the gamepage for 4 talks about how the game is designed with a lack of bias, sounds like that may not be the case.
From the comments it looks like the game is going to be another shit show. I wonder if they can even simulate political situation in my country where the parliament is pretty much a car full of clowns with money trailing from their locked trunk.

And no, I'm not talking about American politic.

But you live in United Kingdom, not democracy:D
I think I played the original many years ago. Wonder if that will ever come here.

We have democracy here. Just look at the House of Commons full of fat useless idiots screaming at each other who nobody voted for.

Could you explain what you mean? I'm watching that show you guys are pulling off over there with bemused interest but as far as I am aware no one can be a member of the House of Commons without at least one person in their constituency voting for them.

Yeah, I agree. Your government would be much better with me in charge.

UK is a democracy. Not "republic" but still a democracy. That's what the "constitutional" in front of the "monarchy" means.

It may sound weird to you but in ancient Greece, where they sort of invented democracy, they actually had slaves. You know, like American democrats used to have and are really sad about not having any longer. That's why democracy doesn't automatically mean that the people have the power. It simply means that some people vote. So, if you want power to the people then you should, whenever possible, vote against those elitists and wannabe aristocrats who are trying to take the power away from you.

And in case of game stores, you can, so of speak, vote with your wallet. Cheers.

I am no stranger to ancient Greece, being student of philosophy and all. And by the way, the Greek considered democracy among the worst forms of government, they thought of it as "rule of mob".

In any case, I am aware that UK is constitutional monarchy; my reply to nightcraw1er.488 was just a friendly joke, that's all;)
