Question to Russians:

Is there an actual (metro?) city called Trudograd ("City of Labor", translation mine) in Russia?

There's a village Trud ("Labor", translation mine) in Bulgaria, that is on a main road.

Lived in Russia for 14 years.

Never heard of a name like that. There could be a village or something smaller, or a metro station somewhere with similar name, but not a city. But then again, I could be wrong. :)

But yeah, Trud = Labor; and Grad = Town (in Old Slavic).
