The sounds of engines can be heard form afar! art of rally, the simulation game about the golden years of racing, is coming soon DRM-free on GOG.COM. Sit behind the wheel of over 50 iconic rally cars from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Master the art of driving and beat 60 stages that will take you around the world - to Finland, Sardinia, Norway, Japan, and Germany.
wow what a rare occasion that a racing game gets released on gog :D
I almost regret having zero interest in racing games, beause this looks very nice. Just the vistas I mean... damn nice.
Tried the demo, I've never played a rally racer so it was a bit to adjust to but it has a lot of options for car control so very customizable, just need to adjust my play style (was improving as I played).

Like above my only major issue is the car reset as it doesn't really give you a chance to recover if you go off track (was trying to cut a corner but still it is too strict.)

LOL. A video game stops you from cheating and you complain that it is "too strict". XD

You must find real life a bitch.

No, many racing games reward you for finding shortcuts and ways to shave seconds off of your time.
I Woud like a Triple A Racing game
something like Dirt or even Project cars
If others wont bring it
hopefully CD project red coud make one
i mean they are already making Cyberpunk 2077 with cars in it
so why not a full fledged racing game
If they want rpg elements in it they coud go for a varitation in the racing genre not often used where you can uppgrade you cars with Parts with money won in the races
Single player campaign , co-op and multiplayer
offcourse.

The 1st course game 64-Bit multiplatform on gog, it’s good.
But... I also played it on itch, and it’s not really my cute sin!
I’ll probably bought it, nothing has been decided yet.

I would have liked "Horizon Chase Turbo":

Thanks a lot for that! I rarely spend time in arcade / simcade racing games and generally anything that isn't a proper simulation, but since i dig Group B era of rallying (and vintage F1 racing / GT racing / Road Racing in general), i need to take a closer look to Art of Rally. The lack of onboard camera could be a dealbreaker for me, judging from the video though, i may be pleasantly surprised by the physics and the overall quality it seems to possess.

Also, as a Grand Prix Legends (https://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/grand-prix-legends) vet, i'd really love to see Cranks & Goggles coming to GOG. If you're interested in it too, please take some time to vote for it: https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/cranks_and_goggles (thanks!)

I tried the demo, not bad. The developer wrote, that is can be unoptimized, but it does work for me.
The sound is great, graphic looks great.

However you cannot switch the camera. And I would like to see the car from behind like in "standard" racing games. It would be gorgous to look at these landscapes.

Because if in the replay it works, why should it inside the game?

Every racing game reward the fastest player but those who reward shorcuts are not racing games, they're just party games with car/bike/planes related content.

BranjoHello: I wouldn't play this even if someone pays me to. xD
Glad to see there is interest in it, every game is product of someone's commitment and should have its audience.

Let's hope DiRT Rally and good old Colin McRae's will find it's way (back) to GOG one day. :)
I can second, third and fourth this statement and let me add Richard Burns Rally. IMHO, RBR and Dirt Rally are still the only rally games worth playing.
