From the game's page:
"Rediscover Murder on the Orient Express, adapted to the modern era of 2023 with a faithful but augmented adaptation that introduces a new character named Joanna Locke."

Of course it had to be adapted for the modern era. I guess no story is good enough by today's standards for anyone to be able to enjoy it as it was originally written.

Don´t forget these too:

PD: the best ever Poirot is David Suchet, Kenneth Branagh is not bad too imo.
Apparently 'augmented adaptation' means replacing Hercule Poirot with Jim Carrey's Robotnik.

As far as I'm concerned, Suchet is Poirot.

Suchet Always was my favourite Poirot but when I watched the ABC Murders newest TV version (2018) I loved the John Malkovich style. The story was true to the original (with new important additions), but the historical vision, art direction and mood was refreshing and special.

Agreed on the Brannagh, but those middle series of Suchet take the biscuit for me.

Bringing us down to Earth again from Christie's flights of artistic moment, for those in love with TV detective fictions; recently aqquired the complete Rockford Files DVDs & they're wonderfully cliched & nostalgically dated period entertainment.

Back on topic, truly looking forward to the release of this little gem.

It is going to be fascinating to witness the logic and methodology of this very particular iteration in plain sight, laid bare, for all this World to see.
Certainly looks like an intriguing case inspector.
Why is this game's genre listed as action. I haven't read every single Hercule Poirot novel, but I've read enough of them to know that Hercule Poirot isn't exactly an action hero.

Yep. Immediately lost interest when I got to this part. The funny thing is, if they just a made a good game with an entirely original story and called it Homicide on the Transsiberian Railway - a Joanna Locke Mystery, I'd be up for it. But no, we have to go the Tauriel way.

I read that Agatha made a good portion of her stories while washing the dishes. Cleaning dirty objects making them shine.
Wait a second...doesn't this game already exist from like 10 years ago?

You want to enjoy it as it was originally written?
You can still do that easily, it's called reading a book.

That's a great point. I would have loved something like that.
For me, the worst part is that they claim to be "faithful" to the original story, before saying that they have "augmented" it, instantly contradicting this first point.

Gee, thanks buddy! I never would have thought of that.
One could also wonder what the point in making a game based on a book is if it's not to respect the book in the first place.
Why not make a new IP inspired by the book instead? It would be more respectful to the author of the original story and more creative.

GOG (or at least one of the community managers) claimed that they get their tags from a internet database (without specifying which one), which I find hard to believe since the info sites made by players usually don't have tags that are completely bonkers (like Tomb Raider being a 2D game and not having a female protagonist).
