amok: and it will be free to play as well...
Crimson-X had that covered in their starting post, but I guess it's nice to repeat it.

Leroux: I'm not surprised by this at all, seeing that Chex Quest is essentially an advertising game, and for a product and a company that apparently still exist.

I'm more surprised that Steam allows it, but then again they don't really seem to care what games they host, as long as it brings them more users.
Isn't that what a game store trying to sell games should do, if it wants to remain in business and grow?

Also I assume the company that makes Chex cereal is ok with this(or even getting a cut of the profits from the big box sales) if they haven't issued a C&D.

(But I could be wrong, and they could've missed it.)

Leroux: (Mind you, I'm not saying anything against the game, just pointing out that there's a perfectly good reason for GOG not to host it.)
I get what you are laying down and why you laid it down, bruh...I just think it's more likely that the ones doing it went with steam as "more users".

Fender_178: Very interesting, I knew of doom clones and even Wolf3d clones as well one being Noah's Ark 3D which was based around that god awful SNES port of Wolf3d. I heard about this series from watching the AVGN episode about the Chex Quest games and he said that the games are very good.
They are. And the Doom 3 mod is somewhat decent as well.

Hells, they(fans) even made a brutal version of it for those who wanted such, or so I seem to recall.

It seems Chex(and Chex Mix) seem to be sponsoring the game a bit and likely allowing it(as per the steam info) so all seems to be above board. Now to play it.

Oh, I'm sure they allow it and would be happy to see it distributed, that wasn't my point. My point was that GOG might not want to offer games which are basically advertisement for cereal brands.

Anyway, I tried it on Steam but couldn't even be bothered to finish the first level. I thought the original had more charm, so even if GOG were fine with advertising cereals, they should rather try and get the old games.
