hi where can i find the md5 checksums for the gog games i've paid for thanks ?

(i don't use dotnet vista windows7 modern hardware etc because they are full of drm related stuff slow bloated and never even existed when the games i'm interested in were released so apparently i can't use gog's galaxy or downloader and probably some of the games in their current state that gog has modified too)

ps is it possible to get the original game isos from gog because a lot of the old games didn't have so much drm in them in the first place and don't need any emulation or special software for old non-drm computer hardware i'm using which would just slow them down ?

i mean i remember buying a state of the art £3000+ 500mhz p3 katmai desktop cpu system in the late 90s and 100mhz or 128K difference in level2 cache was a price difference of several hundreds of ££££ yet gog is quoting 1ghz or 1.8ghz minimum for games of that time ?

Well, for some of the games you can find the md5 on their gogwiki page. For the others you're out of luck.

In regards to your second question. Nope, it is not possible to get the original isos here.

I don’t think GOG provides them. But if you give us the list of installers you want to check, I might be able to give you the MD5 sums of some of them, and someone will surely pop up for the other installers ;)

I put some of them online here:

This list was generated from the git repository of ./play.it:

vv221: I don’t think GOG provides them.
I think GOG has them (for the installer files), because e.g. gogrepo.py tool does download the md5sums for them from GOG, and then verifies the files against them. Maybe check the gogrepo.py script how exactly it downloads those checksums from GOG. So the md5sums are there somewhere, you just have to know how to get them...

Extras like zip files and such don't get md5sums from GOG, but at least the zip files you can check by testing them with your favorite compression utility.

With my 1228 GOG games, I've encountered only two games for which GOG doesn't provide the md5 checksums for some reason (probably unintentional): Kyn, and The Walking Dead Season 1. All other games have them. I recall there was also a third such game (which I don't have, I think it was mentioned in the gogrepo discussion I linked above).

I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that TWDS1 can't be downloaded using the downloader.

Might be related, but as said I don't think it is intentional because other games, including TWDS2, have them apparently. Maybe GOG might even add the md5sums for those two games (and the third one) if someone asked them nicely... I know they fixed the "default language problem" for Iron Storm which also caused problems for gogrepo.py, when I asked them. They are such super duper guys and gals after all.

gogrepo.py can download Kyn and TWDS1 just fine, but it just can't check the integrity with md5 for them (since it can't find the md5 checksums, I think it merely checks that the installer files are of correct size).

You must be right here, I actually don’t understand how I didn’t think about it despite using lgogdownloader to download all of my GOG games…
