Are there any games that you just can’t wait to see on GOG? Don’t worry… We’ll only add to that list and hype up your anticipation! There’s no more, no less, but 7 titles that’ll soon join our catalog – let’s take a look, shall we?
Vernal Edge, Elypse, Gravity Circuit and Lempo from Plug In Digital
If you’re looking for a genre variety, Plug In Digital will surely deliver. From the four upcoming titles, you’ll get to choose between retro blast from the past and modern first person gameplay, 2D or 3D graphics, action or psychological horror… It’s all there!
Vernal Edge and Elypse are both 2D metroidvania platformers with female protagonists; the first one embracing classic retro vibes, and the second presenting a more funky, yet gloomy, contemporary approach. In Vernal Edge you’ll get to experience the floating islands of Haricot, jump, dash and slide your way into pixel art environments – all that, sprinkled with a dynamic and rewarding combat system. Elypse, on the other hand, will challenge you with an environment fraught with traps and dangers, serving action in a much darker way, leading the mechanics in the depths of an infernal world. You’ll surely get used to an intuitive dash and slash system; all in order to face treacherous surroundings and vicious foes.
Gravity Circuit, while similarly embracing the pixelated 2D action platformer genre, will literally take you back in time, into the spirit of console classics. It’s much more flashy than the aforementioned titles, and introduces a male character, Kai – a lone operative war hero who harnesses the mysterious powers of the Gravity Circuit. It’ll be an adventure into a futuristic world inhabited by sentient robots, so better be ready! If you’re in a mood for something entirely different though, Lempo might be right up your alley; it presents an entirely different kind of gameplay, a first-person horror with themes heavily inspired by Finnish mythology. As a player, you’ll take up the role of Paul, a pretty regular guy, who gets lost in a forest after his day of work; you’ll get to discover this eerie place and its secrets, as well as stories of people who got trapped there long before you.
Mad Restaurant People and Dreadful River from SureAI
If none of those sounded interesting to you, worry you not – we got more! SureAI adds up to the variety of titles; Mad Restaurant People being a colorful, family friendly puzzle game, and Dreadful River standing as a representative of a classic, exploration and crafting RPG adventure.
In Mad Restaurant People you start a job in an ordinary diner, and progress your career as a server by using your keen perception, short-term memory and ability to decide quickly. Fancier and more unique places will hire you as you master challenges, unlock perks and stay calm even in the weirdest situations. Dreadful River, on the other hand, brings in an entirely different vibe – your quest will be to guide the king down the turbulent river on a flimsy raft. You’ll have to improve your chance of survival while gathering new abilities and gear, finding powerful allies and exploring mysteries along the shore; all while defending the king.
Both of these games you can try out in their respective demos: Mad Restaurant People Demo and Dreadful River Demo.
Asterigos: Call of the Paragons from tinyBuild
Last, but not least, we’ll have something for fans – or future fans! – of Asterigos: Curse of the Stars. In this fantasy RPG, you get to discover the long forgotten secrets and hidden paths of the world, all while experiencing an immersive story where every choice matters. The gameplay elements are inspired by the soulslike games, alongside a lighter, dynamic combat system; it’s a fresh take on the modern action RPG genre – one that you’ll explore even further with the newest DLC, Asterigos: Call of the Paragons!
