ciemnogrodzianin: Yup. It was fixed a few minutes later. GOG has huge problems with caching mechanism, I guess. The same "new sale pages" and filtering by discounted. Even 15 minutes after sale's launch it does not work correctly.

Perhaps they just want to break some schemes. They've increased number of sales recently and there seems to be more one-time events. Perhaps dropping Midweek and Weekend is just a part of the plan? There was a lot of criticism around them – as lacking any idea and discounting some random selections of games.

Or perhaps someone forgot to click the button ;)
With GOG – you never know :D

arrua: There are several sales already in place (505, THQ, Cyberpunk and Dach sales). It is not as if there was no sale at the moment.

I have been checking the big sales thread and doesn´t seem like there is going to be any autumn sale. There is no such thing. I think that the next big sale is going to be the halloween sale. In October.
That makes sense, the GOG sale was pretty much a fall sale, just under another name.

SCPM: Realms Deep starts later today, maybe we’ll get a special sale for the occasion.
I hoped for some releases, but: nope. So it was just a weekend started earlier for GOG team :D
Well, see you guys on Monday!
Maritime Calling does look interestin. Waiting for reviews. Is it actually fun?

Just finding this one in terms of reviews at the moment. And getting mixed user reviews elsewhere.

Since Judas is horror game and Halloween is coming soon, some ideas for horror releases for Halloween:

DreadOut: Keepers of The Dark
Remorse: The List
White Day: A Labyrinth Named School
Night at the Gates of Hell, Murder House, and other Puppet Combo games
Nitemare-3D (finally)
The Consuming Shadow
Night Trap - 25th Anniversary Edition

though if Condemned from SEGA is planned, that'd be appropriate and nice. or FEAR 3 from WB but Condemned has more votes.

I'm curious to know more about it too. It seems like a more evolved Windward, which I liked a lot. Not a fan of the roguelike/roguelite thing though.

Looger23: It has the same statement on the steam game card but apparently the full release was in april. I don't know if it is in the game or not and I won't find out too soon. I like the setting but the few reviews on steam don't give me too much hope... so I'll probably wait for a deeper discount.
I haven't looked it up on Steam, but yeah - when I see a game that flies under "action naval combat", is showing me bread being baked and iron being forged, I get suspicious.

And if I then read about "micromanage just about anything", plus permadeath...not even the deepest discount will make it more appealing to me, anymore.

A shame, really, because I like the setting (sailboats, naval battles between said boats, etc.) in general.
But - shrug - not everything is made for me.

Thank you! A favourable review. They recommend using a discrete graphics card.

So many games that include roguelite elements. They may make sense when the game is aimed at having multiple reruns: if you start off a little bit better each time, then you will likely have a better time handling early game struggles.

Even A Legionary's Life (great for me) can be called roguelite, since the more you achieve with a legionary's life, the better you can start off with future runs.

Although I love the genre, Maritime Calling looks like an Early Access game... or a proof of concept. I'd like to jump on-board, but there are a number of similar games with seemingly much more character. Would be interested in hearing what people here think after playing it.
Never heard of the Judas game.
ok, watched some gameplay of Maritime Calling...

... and...

... I've softened to it a bit. Calling it a "proof of concept" might have been a little harsh.

I'll definitely pick it up, but not until it's come down a bit more.
It might be something like Mount & Blade at sea. Maybe no overarching campaigns? Not even procedurally created ones? There are quests, as the screen captures show. At least Mount and Blade invites players to set their own goals at different stages int he game. This might be a characteristic of a successful sandbox game, maybe: to make sure that it is not all the same, but there might be progress to goals that the player sets, or provide goals for the player to achieve. Then, if there is some aids to RP... Mount and Blade improves inmensely if you roleplay a bit (YMMV).

I mention this because often a good story helps to motivate the player to proceed forward. A sandbox game must provide something else. For example, changing the dynamics that the player faces at different stages of the game.
