Cavalary: Must say, he sure looks haggard...
I'm sure a month ago he was much worse. Probably needed some time to get himself back to 'presentable'.
CD Project is just another AAA corporation but with edgy marketing.

My two cents is that the dev team was put under extreme pressure from shareholders to get this out (keep in mind the pandemic has not been kind to anyone economically). I think most of the bugs were found by the dev and qa teams and the producers got a bit too comfortable with a lot of bugs. Not trying to make excuses for these guys but as for me I'll give them a pass on this given the climate of the time. Also one key thing to keep in mind that as far as the consoles go; there are qa teams on the console makers side that make sure the games don't violate any standards they may have. How did this pass them? CD Projekt probably isn't the only group that should get called out for this. Those qa teams of the console makers are the last look before release.

This is baseless and means nothing. The opinion of one YouTuber is not the be-all, end all of a company.
So this seems like the appropriate thread...

I was an early gun-ho sorta supporter of this game, rocky start glitches and all. I got it to run nicely on my Win 7 computer (thanks CDProject for getting DX12 up and going on Win 7!). I was running the Day One Patch and had decent performance...

... but I just updated all my patches and the game fucking crashes every time I try to load in game. Previously I could do this just fine. But now, I can load a save when I "enter" the game, but if I try to load a save after that... it crashes. EVERY... TIME.

I've been one of those "patient" gamers, annoyed at the nay-sayers who expected perfection and transcendence out of a deep game day one... but this is fucking ridiculous.

I wanted to even "help out" and upload my stats to help correct the problem... but when I went through the prompts from support it was fucking useless and I got bounced about unable to give a proper support ticket. I still don't know how to forward my issue to support.

I was one of those people PISSED OFF at all the assholes refunding their game, while playing it all along the way and complaining. But right now I'm so close to refunding it because of 1) the fact that I can no longer load in game and 2) can't file a support ticket JUST TO LET THEM KNOW THE ISSUE! that I'm infuriated.

I don't get why support changed - in the past I could give my issue along... but now it seems like if I don't fit in a canned resposne it just... ends and I can't tell them what my issue it. Someone please help as I really want to be a productive gamer helping along a company I like and not just fucking angry at a game that was okay but is now broken.

Yeah but still ouch!

Except that the only big shareholders are the founders/managers of the company. The rest (66.44%) is free float. See https://www.cdprojekt.com/en/investors/shareholders/
These 4 people are also on the board: https://www.cdprojekt.com/en/capital-group/board-of-directors/
If free float makes pressure as you imply it would be public knowledge. Its far as understand conceptually impossible for free float shareholder majority to apply pressure like that without it becoming public knowledge.
Basically as I see it the management consists of the effectively controlling shareholders.

Breja: Let's face it - it's just PR bullshit people who want to believe in corporate "good guys" will eat up like pelicans.
It is corporate PR...

... but...

... the head of a company making a public apology is significant (not common in the Western business). CDPR could easily have said nothing... and certainly most other companies would have either said nothing or spouted some half-hearted.tweets (or even "attacked" fans which has become a popular corporate past time).

While CDPR made a BIG mistake and deserves all the lumps they've gotten, IMO this apology shows a level of audience respect that I can admire. Again, CDPR's actions will make-or-break this situation, but I think this apology was a needed first step that I can respect.

Is it audience respect to intentionally leave out some of the most important things to address, effectively leaving the "apology" completely meaningless and devoid of any substance? I actually would have found it more respectful to say nothing at all. This is even worse.

Psykopat89: He didn't explain why they chose to go out of their way to hide any and all footage of the console version and do everything in their power to make its state hidden until it was too late (when people had bought it).

If he's just going to spout even more lies and bullshit, it would have been better to shut up entirely.
Apologies only make it worse. The only kind of a apology that would satisfy anyone is if someone crucify themselves.

NovusBogus: Behold, Blizzard's start of darkness: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bnetd
This was the moment Blizzard became evil?

Because they filed a lawsuit against this BNETD?

Even though it was violating EULA Terms of Service by reverse engineering?

Oh wait, all consumer/non-company people think this is still wrong and unfair and bullshit and they didn't need to lawsuit them. Fuck what company people thinks and feels.

In cases like this, you may want to PM (or is it DM these days?) one the blues that frequent the forums directly. Maybe they can assist in getting the ticket moving in the right direction.

I think their names are listed in one of the stickied topics in the General forum.

Can't hurt to try right? :)

I managed to get a support ticket off - I was angry and annoyed so I think that colored my ability - cooler heads prevailing and all. I hope it gets resolved (though obviously not in the next few days as I'm up against a weekend). Weirdly enough I couldn't find anything about it with a quick search on the internet...

... and for me it'll always be a PM ;) And damnit, this is a POUND key : # - WTF is a hashtag? Isn't this a "hashmark" - /
I've finally managed to actually watch the video... damn, does he look haggard and tired. Like he hasn't slept in days or even weeks.

He says a lot without actually saying much, other than "things went south and I'm sorry". And - most importantly - taking the blame (as management), and asking people not to put this on the devs themselves. That's a good thing, because managers love to deflect blame and are usually never at fault.

As somebody further up already mentioned, it's a pretty big thing in itself, that a CEO of a big company like that goes public to say "sorry".

And of course the expected stuff "we'll fix it as soon as we can" - which is what they need to do and say... I'd rather would have wanted to hear "we five our devs two months of paid leave, and then we'll fix the game", but of course CDPR would have been torn to shreds if they'd do that. Poor dev grunts...

Another interesting thing is that they delay the free DLC, that's something that shows they're serious about fixing the game. It'd been easy to say "here's some free stuff for your troubles" (and everybody like "YAY") and let the rest blow over.

Well, what's left is to wait and see. And Marcin should really get some medical help and some good nights' sleep. Maybe a week or so.
