Goodbye Princess Leia,R.I.P.:(
R.I.P. Thats the first news that flashed onto my phone this morning.Sad day. :(.

Geralt_of_Rivia: A sad day indeed. :-(

@infinite9: They either rewrite the story to write Leia out, use a different actor or use the same method that was predicted in the Running Man and first used in The Crow: With a body double who gets the face of the actor superimposed with a computer.
They still cant get the facials right -- both her and Peter Cushing (Tarkin) 's were... scary......

I guess she died over night. RIP, she was a big part of my childhood and teenage years as the princess. It was so great to see her back in TFA. Not to mention 60 is pretty young to go in our time. I hope it was painless and wish her family well.
sad news. I do like her obit though, funny till the end :)

phaolo: RIP Leia..
Damn, I just watched Rogue One..
i know what you mean man. i watched it a few days ago and the scene at the end took my breath away for a brief second and then bam! the next day i hear this news of a heart attack etc. so so awful.

i thought cushings left a bit to be desired. but hers i thought was pretty good, though that might be because of how quick the scene was.

Tarkins eyes --- quite a few have said how creepy they are.

for me it was the lip movement. computers the animators just can't get the lip movement right. it's like they over-purse when speaking.
Hope she didn't suffer much near the end.

R.I.P
RIP Carrie Fisher :(

tburger: The same way they've made Peter Cushing reappear in Rogue One.

As for the subject...Damn..:-(
Episode 8 part seems to be shot already, might use CG for episode 9 or not have her character in it
This prompted me to look at a site that listed 234 celebs that have died. Browsing through them, I found some surprising people:

Carrie Fisher - 12 27 - age 60 - played Princes Leia
Kenny Baker - 08 13 - age 81 - man inside R2D2
Tony Dyson - 03 04 - age 68 - built original R2D2
Erik Bauersfield - 04 03 - age 93 - voice of Admiral Ackbar
Jason Wintergreen - 12 25 2015 - age 95 - voice of Boba Fett

and other sci-fi notables:

Ron Glass - 11 25 - age 71 - played Shepherd Book in Firefly / Serenity
Jerry Doyle - 07 27 - age 60 - played Garibaldi on Babylon 5
Anton Yelchin - 06 19 - age 27 - played Chekov in Abrams' 2009 ST reboot
Janet Waldo - 06 12 - age 96 - voice of Judy Jetson from Jetsons cartoon

John Glenn - 12 08 - age 95 - first American to orbit Earth in 1962
Farewell, Princess :( Rest in peace.
As I feared Carrie Fisher passed away. Still makes me sad. Hopefully it was peaceful for all concerned.

infinite9: This is definitely a shock. I am not sure how they are going to do Episodes 8 and 9.
Episode 8 shouldn't be a problem as her part was completed last summer. http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/12/27/carrie-fisher-reportedly-finished-filming-star-wars-ep-8-scenes

However, it may be a problem for Episode 9 if they intended for her to be in it. But, given that they killed off Harrison Ford and these stories aren't about the old crew, I'm not sure how much of a part she would have had.
And now Carrie's mother Debbie Reynolds has been rushed to the hospital with a possible stroke. Can 2016 be over already?
