Can't play with my friends because the latest update won't work. Tried reinstalling. Tried using the browser download.

Other games install fine, just not this latest BG3 update

You can not install because of an error?

The offline installer is still on the older build "Live - v4.1.1.5932596", if you was using this one and it did not work as well... then it seems 2 builds did not work for you in a row. Probably a PC issue somewhere.

I can verify the older "Live - v4.1.1.5932596" works fine so far, it is actually the first build without a "launcher error" for me. In general, this game is a "bugfest", so do not expect it to run bugfree, not going to happen.

The newest version, currently on Galaxy, should be "v4.1.1.5970269", i can not say if it works because i do not use any launcher, but yes, this build is from yesterday.

I have the same issue. I tried installing today's update, and it failed due to error E9. So I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Now the attempted reinstall fails with error E9.

EDIT:
Now, it's giving me error E15.

i have the same issue. tried downloading the update and it failed (E9). i then tried re-installing the game but that failed too. so now i'm stuck not able to install the game. the offline installer is an old patch. which sucks. contacted support but it's been a while and i've no reply.
Same here since yesterday. Downloading again fails with the same error.

Edit: Created a support Ticket yesterday but no answer.

My friends bought on Steam and laughing....

And even if downloading the offline installer works it has the old version.
It seems only the new build is affected which is currently Galaxy-only.

The offline installer should work properly, but i would recommend to back it up... because once it may get the update it might become some real troubles.

I guess they are already trying to fix it... but not sure why it started to become a issue. It is basically almost identical to the "Steam"; there is simply the Launcher-DRM removed so it works "out of the executables".

BerryForCoffee: the offline installer is an old patch. which sucks.
Something that works does never suck... it just is worse compared to a newer build with more fixes.

However: This game may still take years to become a condition acceptable for non-bug-hunters and non-bug-lovers, so there is no hurry updating it and actually... there is no version which is fully fixed.

Whats fun: As soon as they fix something, another thing may break... i think they was putting to much demand on the engine or their own capabilities. Yet with sufficient size and complexity, even a UE5 game can become bugged; so it is important to think interconnected. To be fair: Games never was that complicated such as some of the games we experience today; so it simply will take years of fixes and "understanding" all the mechanism creating issues.

I really do not need a game at launch anymore, because it may take 1-2 years in order to polish a huge game. Although i got this game nearly one year after "full release", not to soon, and it is far from being fixed.

Same, I can download the offline version, but it's an older version. Then when Galaxy tries to update to the latest patch, it fails on that update.

So it sounds like the issue is with the newest patch.

Using an old version doesn't work for me, because I can't play with my friends who are on the new version.

I just received a response from GOG support, but I have not been able to test it because I'm at work. But here is what they wrote. Has anyone tried and can confirm?

Message from GOG:

Please could you let me know whether the issue persists?

If so:

Please add following files (and their folders as well as the entire GALAXY installation folder) to both your antivirus and firewall trusted/exception list:

C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG GALAXY\GALAXYClient.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG GALAXY\GALAXYClientService.exe
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\GALAXY\redists\GALAXYCommunication.exe

Make sure to restart GOG GALAXY after following above.
Simply click on the Cogwheel icon on the top left side and select "Exit".

Some Users reported that having the "Scan secure connection" enabled in their security software was causing this issue, this option can also be called scan SSL/TLS connections - make sure to disable it.
