Realentropy: Was the server too busy when it took my payment?
The payment processor doesn't host any games.
Realentropy: what I am NOT ok with is that the PAYMENT server never seems to have a problem.
In that case, you'll be happy to know there are multiple forum threads about payment issues with both bank cards and Paypal.
Realentropy: I wonder if the refund service works with as much alacrity as the payment service :)
Wallet refunds should take up to 24 hours. Refunds to other payment methods can take around 30 days.
Realentropy: I was using Galaxy. I have used Galaxy for years and never had the issues like tonight.
A few things to try:
•
Disable IPv6 and
Set DNS to Cloudflare ("Setup on PC" section near the bottom), then restart your system.
• Another Internet connection if available (e.g. smartphone with mobile hotspot enabled).
• A different browser without any add-ons and default settings.
The error message suggests there's not much you can do other than retrying a bit later. But GOG has had networking on and off networking issues, in particular IPv6-related. It's worth a shot. If the problem persists, you should open a support ticket if you haven't already. Getting a support response can take weeks, exceeding the 30-day window you have to request a refund. Better to submit that ticket sooner rather than later.
