I'm running Windows 10 and I cannot get any of the .exe files to run and install. I'm running as administrator on an administrator account. When I run as administrator it asks me if I want to allow it to make changes to the computer. I select yes...it spins for a few seconds and then...nothing. I have even tried to disable my WIndows Defender and input the .exe files as exceptions and still...nothing.

Any thoughts?

If you are trying to run an older game you might try under the properties and compatibility to run it as an older version of windows.

I presume you're only installing games with win 10 compatability?! - not all have been given that function as yet. Please chck individual gamecards before installing in the interim.

i don't think it's related to any security software.

out of curiosity which games are you triying to install ?

Sachys summed up it all; otherwise.

I tried to install Galaxy, as well as Ys Ark of Napishtim and Ys Oath in Felghana. Previously I installed Botanicula and Machinarium, but I was using Windows 8.1 at the time of install

Both Ys games should install & run without problem (i checked the gamecard)

Since i never touched Windows 10 , i let this to users who have the proper knowledge to help you (trying hazardous things isn't recommended)

Meanwhile, you could also create a support ticket (if nobody manage to help you); keep in mind most of staff members don't work the week-end.

check to see what's happening in task manager. Your anti malware might be going crazy if it's the first time using a GOG .exe. No reason why it does, but it does.
All I do is double-click on a .exe and it works as intended... yes, on Windows 10.
edit: I ask about anti malware because I'm on a HDD and it does the old '100% usage' when it happens. This is why nothing works at the time.

I select the .exe and in task manager, the program appears...but it remains at 0% and nothing happens. I can install other .exe files. Just not gog or the client.

no look at your background processes, not your applications. See if your disk is hitting 100% or something.

It is under background processes, at the bottom, and always stays at 0
