Ice_Mage: Be warned every time Americans brought up a prepaid card on this forum, it's because it didn't support international transactions. They couldn't use it to buy anything from GOG, a Polish company.

F4LL0UT: From what I recall the problem wasn't that GOG is a Polish company but rather that they were registered and had their bank accounts in Cyprus and apparently that place is blacklisted by various credit card companies.

Wikipedia doesn't mention Cyprus on GOG's article anymore, though, so I guess all of that may have changed at some point?

No, most pre-paid cards in the US don't work for any international transactions. The issue of banks blocking transactions to Cyprus is a separate one that affects people with normal cards. You and Ice_Mage are referring to two completely separate issues.
