Cowoth: Brigador: Up-Armored Deluxe Edition is free for a limited time for all GOG Galaxy users.
Wow.
They really are doing everything they can to alienate their customers, aren't they?

There's the disappointed Cyberpunk 2077 crowd, and the angry Devotion people, and on top of that they are now making users who don't use Galaxy furious too?

I honestly must wonder, how are they handling their PR?

Crosmando: Am I the only one who doesn't really like giveaways? Feels like a betrayal of those who paid for it. I know all PC gamers are "technically" free because of piracy but that's a different issue.
I'm OK with that, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.
Maybe a game you just bought becomes free soon, then again, some game you are planning to buy may become free before you buy it. It should even out in the long run.

Having said that, I felt very stupid when a game that I had supported on Kickstarter before it was made, about one year after its release was offered for free, and because of several time constraints I hadn't even played it by that time yet.

I suppose I can think that as a donation to support game arts, but even so, it really makes me think twice, or like thirty times over, before giving money to any games projects anymore.

I wouldn't say people are "furious" for having to use galaxy. In fact Galaxy has been attracting people to gog more than the other way around. And once again, if you don't like it, stop using it. How is that so hard to do or understand?

I think the main thing is that we associate money with value, and all these giveaways seem to undermine that and reveal that digital goods are pretty much free.

I think, the main difference is, that people no longer just pay for a product but predominantly for the time at which they get to access it (which also got more granular with pricing changing even after few months).
I got the banner now and the game showed up in my library.
Seems to be working now.

The offer is also available on the GOG main page for 72H00. Without needing the Galaxy. :)

No, this is what happens when the information is wrong.
The quoted message both here on GOG forums and Reddit clearly says it's a giveaway for Galaxy users.

If it's available for everyone, that's great obviously, but the question I posed is still valid. How are they doing their PR?

If it were true, then it would leave out a good number of users. If it is available for everyone, like it apparently is, it has been miscommunicated. Simply based on that message that was sent to some, but obviously not all, GOG customers, it's clearly a Galaxy thing, "limited time for all GOG Galaxy users" is very hard to misinterpret.

It's good for all non-users that they can go to the front page and simply claim it, but it's not good PR or good communication.

I quite randomly found out about this on Reddit (and I rarely read Reddit, so it's a real coincidence!), and then came to check if GOG forums had anything more about it. I assume that there are thousands of users who are not reading Reddit, not following GOG forums, and not using GOG Galaxy that have no idea that this giveaway is happening.

Hopefully there will be an email about it later, as there apparently was for (some) Galaxy users.

Anyway thanks for the game GOG.

Same here, the banner just showed up for me as well. I guess it was like staggered or delayed for some people.

Nope, I see the countdown, but when I cllick on it, I don't get anywhere.

Tried it with the normal GOG Galaxy client (not the new one in beta), my default browser (Palemoon) and Google Chrome. Same result.

I managed to get it, with the GOG Galaxy 2.0 crap edition.

After starting, it asked to subscribe for the marketing material, and after THAT, you get it.

Did not help if you open https://www.gog.com/game/brigador_deluxe_edition and click on the giveaway button, you will be redirected to ... the start page.

Just to clarify: the information that this promotion was launched earlier for GOG GALAXY users on purpose is false. The giveaway launching two hours earlier (the plan was to launch it at 2PM UTC) only in the application was a genuine mistake on our side :) As you can see, the game is now available for free for everyone, both on GOG.COM and in GOG GALAXY.
