Enter the fray of the never-ending war with 19 new units and unique gameplay mechanics. Warhammer 40,000: Gladius - Craftworld Aeldari DLC is now available DRM-free on GOG.COM. The new roster of units is very versatile: Aeldari units are absolutely lethal from a distance, but you won't lack for deadly close combat options either.

The release of this DLC comes with a set of special discounts on selected Warhammer 40,000: Gladius titles lasting until 19 November 2020, 6 PM UTC.
Good to see Gog announcing DLCs again. Been looking forward to playing the Eldar in Gladius.
got it, thanks Gog ;)
Is this game any similar to Dawn of War?

Technically no.
However, the WH40K Theme is the same.
Also, for me playing Gladius feels like someone took a combat focused, tactical RTS with micromanagement and converted it to a turn based strategy game. Don't excpect a Civ-like just because Gladius is grid- and turn based.

I can greatly recommend Gladius if you like to play a combat focused strategy game with enough time to plan your actions. Already played 25 hours with just the base game and only played 2 of the 4 base factions.

Oh, thank you for your very nice and informative reply.

To be honest, I never really played such a turn-based games on computer, not even chess. :) Yeah, I know... OK, maybe I did solitaire, but that's it. But that one is more or less a solo game, so not really a turn-based strategy game.

It would be nice, if there would a be simple demo or something, to see the gameplay in action.

Anyway, it does read Interesting. So, is there any countdown or you can play a match for as long as you like?

Actually Im not really a TBS enthusiast either, but this one really got me.
Unfortunatly there is no demo, as far as I know. Ive bought the base game at the last sale (afterwards decided to buy the DLCs). I would say the 10-15 USD or EUR are worth trying and the base game does give a full and good impression.

There is no turn limit and you are able to choose if you want a countdown for each turn or not.
Thank you! Good to know, that there is no turn limit. I will invest in the base game and then see, if it will work for me :)

Wish you a nice weekend.
The Age Of Wonders series is also pretty good if you want to try some turn based strategy games. Not sure how it compares to WH40K: Gladius, though at least visually they seem to have many similarities.
The Age Of Wonders is more story... w40k is about the combat

Age of Wonders Planetfall has a huge focus on diplomacy. Gladius has no diplomacy whatsoever - kill all you enemies is pretty much it. They're quite different even if some of the themes are similar.
