The DRM-free initiative.

We've always been on a mission to offer you games with no DRM protection whatsoever. Today, we want to start taking things a step further, help out people who bought a retail game with DRM, then ended up stuck with something rather unplayable. We can help you enjoy your favorites once again, and this time around, enjoy them DRM-free!

There are countless retail games out there that don’t work for various reasons: unsupported types of DRM, system incompatibilities, broken features. There's too many too count. Starting today, owners of several retail titles originally sold with DRM can get a digital copy of their game completely free at GOG.com: with no DRM as always, compatible with modern operating systems, and with plenty of goodies to boot.
Reclaim these games, DRM-FREE:

Editions released worldwide:
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat

Editions released only in CIS & Russian territories:
-Mount & Blade: Warband
-Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword
-Eador: Genesis

To reclaim your game, just use one of the keys that came with your box. You can find more detailed information on the Reclaim your games, DRM-FREE! page to see if your key is compatible and just where to go from there.

This is just the start of something much bigger. We plan to add more titles to the list in the future - it's a long and complicated process that involves negotiating with multiple parties and a scavenger hunt to retrieve forgotten key-databases - but then, we are on a mission here, we'll do whatever it takes.

HOLY CRAP! Stalker here I come baby!!!!!!
Another brilliant idea ! Now you just have to convince game editors to choose you over Steam for their new releases :p Good luck with that. In the mean time I registered STALKER, thank you very much.
Awesome guys, genius idea!
I just spent way too much much time trying to get Mount & Blade Warband before finally re-reading the part where it says its only for CIS and Russian territories. The boxed version had that nasty online activation too. Oh well. At least I got the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. trilogy on GOG now.
This is great! nice one GOG way to make use of those boxed games
Just redeemed Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat with my Steam keys, no key was attacted to Shadow of Chernobyl and Eador Genesis :( Also retail Warband key (which activated on Steam) didn't work.
It works ! I redeemed the cd-keys from my boxed versions of SoC and Clear Sky. I completed SoC years ago but never played CS because it contains the Tages-DRM.
Now, I have DRM-free versions on GOG !!!

Thanks GOG for your daily fight against DRM and for this complicated process you made for us.

Ok, I have to complete CS. After that, I will be able to think to buy Call of Pripyat (maybe during the next sale).

No luck for me.

None of my STALKER keys worked; " Code is invalid ", it says. In GameSpy format, taken from my Steam games (by the way, recently updated).

:(
Some friends are saying that they can't activate their Clear Sky (Steam) keys. :(

All of mine worked just fine. Wonder what's up.
Strange. I had contacted the Stalker devs about this a bit over a year ago and they said they were not willing to do it.

You should get Arcen Games in on this. They gave me a GOG key after Bionic Dues came here so I didn't have to have it on Steam, they'd probably have no issue with this.

Too bad steam hides most game's cd-keys though.

Editions released only in CIS & Russian territories:
-Mount & Blade: Warband
-Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword
Great . I'm not allowed to redeem these on GOG because i'm from Hungary . :(
3 down! ( S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Chernobyl, Clear Sky, Pripyat) 20+ to go!

The sooner I can get away from using steam, the better! <3 Cheers!

Entered my steam key and it worked only for one title out of all those offered. Only problem is it also charged me 2.49 automatically. That is not cool.
