Since the game's forum has (literally) one post, I'll ask here:

Does collecting all stars in Braid unlock anything special? Is it like VVVVVV where collecting all orbs gets you an additional room and ending sequence?

The game's puzzles/mechanics aren't my type after all, so I might just skip the some stars, but I'd like to know what I'd be missing if anything.

You get to know the "real" story from what I remember.
The real ending. Although it lasts very little.

There's one star that you can't get after you completed that world's puzzle. Check it out, if you can't get it anymore either restart from the beginning or give up since it's not your cup of tea.

Did they *really* have to do that? Whenever I encounter a permanent missable in a game like this, it feels like sloppy game design.

That's crappy, since I already finished 2-4. Which one is it?

You're not allowed to finish the puzzle in World 3 (according to this thread).

I haven't played the game in six years but I'll take a guess that it's the puzzle / painting that has platforms in it which you need to arrange in a specific manner to reach the star. From what I understand it's missable because you can't rearrange the puzzle pieces anymore once the puzzle's been completed.
Right, thanks for all your help. Now I'm torn between just watching the "real" ending on youtube somewhere or just replaying the whole game (which should go faster now that I know the solutions...)

Are you even positive you've missed this particular star? Just wondering because this star was one I instantly got without resorting to any guides or anything, the platforms in the painting seemed quite obvious to me.

You have to arrange 2 puzzle pieces together. Now that the picture is formed, I have no way of doing it.
So, restarted the game and now it seems to get the star from World 2 you have to wait. For about 2 hours. Not cool. The game doesn't run when minimized.

Sigh.... That real ending better be worth it.

Of note, I am seriously considering taking this game off my wishlist because of this missable star.

Honestly? Just watch it on YouTube. That's what I did. The stars are too ridiculous to get, especially the infamous one where you have to literally stand in one spot and wait for a couple hours.

Oh dear, I completely forgot about that one.

Boy, was that ever a lie.

Yes, this is the kind of information I could have used *before* restarting...

Now I *have* to collect the stars, so my that my restarting has meaning...
