I wonder how many individuals of low moral fiber have caved in because of "MUH SKYFALL!!!!!!!!11!!1!!"...
I wouldn't call people "of low moral fibre" because they buy a game they want. They're not harming people, they're buying and playing vidya games. But personally, I couldn't claim to be boycotting if I was buying games.
Well, I found this quote discomforting:

...and preserving both new and old games by making them DRM-free – so there's never a need, now or in the far future, for remote servers to validate ownership.

How about saying instead "...there's never a need, now or in the far future, for remote servers to do anything at all with your games"....

Am I interpreting it wrongly?

But the option's there for those available services/features (that Galaxy offers, for example) should people want/need them...

They're not harming people, but they're harming The Cause™!
Well I was coming here to ask to be moved from the boycott list to the sympathetic list but then I saw Skyrim and now I'm wondering if I should wait to see if it really is as DRM-free as they are claiming.
I'm happy to remove/move people, if that is what they want. However, I don't think buying Skyrim necessarily equates to 'breaking of ones boycott'. To quote the first post:

Also, to clarify some confusion that has arisen recently: we are using a flexible and permissive interpretation of the term 'boycott' and are considering anyone who is significantly reducing their spending to be boycotting. No, we are not going to tell the person who was spending $1000 per year and is reducing by 80% that they can't be on the list ;-)
Skyrim is a game that many people have been calling for on GOG for years. I'm not planning to buy it myself though.

again this is why most people don't take this boycott seriously as the rules keep changing to favour the boycotters so they can still buy games but claim they are boycotting so they can remain on there high horse.

We've been saying that from the very beginning, that people are welcome who are reducing their spending. Nothing has changed in that regard, whatsoever.

I had a counter to this but history has told me you would just ignore it and lash out at me, so I will just say that this is a false statement, as all throughout this thread there is plenty of evidence that people have changed the rules as times has gone on and even attempted to change what the definition of a boycott is.

I'm not a brocotter, but if I was it would take more than that overrated dogpile to break my spirit! lol
If anyone is curious, I was thinking that GOG has seemed to take some steps in the right direction and not done much/anything disagreeable recently. They were previously my shop of choice but now they will be a shop I sometimes buy some stuff from. Then I saw Skyrim and realised it might turn out we have another Hitman situation so I'd better hold off on moving lists in case I end up moving straight back!

As for Skyrim, I'm glad it's here and I might buy it sometime in the future but I'm not keen on the repetitive, procedurally generated side quests.

Only if you view disagreement and defending our position as 'lashing out' ...

I don't, I call verbally berating people and talking down to people who disagree with you lashing out.

lol, yeah it fucking does! xD

I mean, what even is the bloody point of the "sympathetic" list then?

Time4Tea: To quote the first post:
That part you quoted was a late addition, mostly to cover your own ass because you caved in and bought some stuff during the winter sale.

Not only does it sound pitiful, it cheapens the whole cause. The whining anti-boycotters that rear their heads here every now and then are spot-on about that.

Ahh, waiting for the Zoom Platform version, I see. ;o)
