I've been having success getting old games to work with dgVoodoo so I thought why not try it with Blood Omen especially since it just stopped working after leaving it alone a few months.

It works, I can start the game and I can move around, load, save but sometimes I get some memory access error and I don't know why.

I made a stupid mistake of changing the resolution which apparently saved (where?) so now that I want to change back because it looks awful, now the game crashes with the same memory access error and it's "stuck" in a lower resolution, some 300x200 probably.

Where is this resolution information saved? I looked in registry but I couldn't find it.

FYI, I get the memory access error even without dgVoodoo, in fact I get it more often without it.

A silly question: why are you using dgVoodoo for the game? Isn't dgVoodoo meant for games which support 3Dfx Glide? I don't think Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain supports it, IIRC... It is a 2D game after all.

Which Windows version are you using, which other (unofficial) patches have you applied on top of the game etc.? Is it the original CD version?

I have it working ok on two Windows 7/64bit machines, but the one which has a NVidia Geforce graphics, I don't get the "pop-up windows" when you e.g. see a roadsign or such. Other than that it seems to work fine.

On the other laptop with Intel HD4000 graphics, the roadsign popup windows display fine, so it seems to be some compatibility problem specifically with NVidia chipset/drivers, but I don't think it is a game-breaking bug. I don't think there is anything really important in those pop-up windows.

Are you using the unnoficial patch/modded exe? Quite essential to fix some bugs.
As timmpu said, no need for the dgvodoo either.

Apart from that, the save location is where you installed the game>SAVED directory.
I'm using dgVoodoo to actually make it into the game, I seem to get that rare memory access error otherwise. dgVoodoo works with games that usually DD, any games before DX9 that is in theory.

I'm using Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.

I've the CD version and I followed CubanRaul's installer.

Sorry, I didn't mean game saves, I meant where is the information saved that keeps the changed resolution. I copied all the essential files to a new folder to see if I would have the same issue. This new folder have more crashes but it has the original resolution (640x480).

Well, according to the pcgamingwiki, the config files should be there aswell, but in a different format.

That did the trick, yes. I don't know how I could have forgotten to try it but it worked. I deleted my bconfig.cfg, jconfig.cfg and knconfig.cfg files which forced the game to reset its settings. Now the game doesn't crash, it runs as it should and I've the right resolution. I can finally finish this game.

Interestingly enough, due to using dgVoodoo it causes the game to actually run as it should, prior to this I recall when you enter the map the arrow that points to your direction moves incredibly fast as if I had a 1000 FPS even though I forced the game to run with Vsync. Now I can move around the map without it crossing the entireity of it by just one button.
