Black Geyser is a party-based real-time combat with pause medieval fantasy RPG. Similarly, Zoria Age of Shattering is a party-based medieval fantasy RPG with turn-based combat. Both are made by very small, indie dev teams.

If you've played them -- or are just very familiar with them -- which do you feel is the better game... and why?

Or are they both worthwhile?

Any thoughts are appreciated!
Both are good solid throwbacks but, as far as I'm concerned it has to be Black Geyser that comes out on top by a slight margin.

Because:

- real time-with-pause combat (which is the rarity these days)
- the closest to a proper Black Isle Infinity Engine cRPG in years (both in aesthetics and gameplay)
- the game's unique Greed mechanic (which you'll have to really lean into role-playing-wise to get the most choice&consequence out of it though)
Just note Black Geyser is getting a DLC in the future, so it might be worth waiting for that.

I have not played enough of either to give you a good opinion, sorry.
Never played any of them, but for whatever it's worth:
purely by reading the descriptions and looking at the screenshots, I would go with "Black Geyser".

Yeah, looks like Black Geyser is starting to pull away from Zoria. ;)

There actually was a kickstarter campaign for the Add-On and it was an all-or-nothing thing for GrapeOcean Technologies. Apparently they would have had to shut down their studio, if not the dlc campaign delivered the needed money.
